buy the same tool at harbor freight and save your self some money... works the same and cost way cheaper
The HF version is $20 so not way cheaper and I'm sure this is a better tool.

While HF has some decent/passable stuff, virtually none of it would actually measure up in terms of 'buy it for life' longevity that made-in-Germany Knipex tools offer. It boils down to uncompromising material selection & manufacturing processes.

Sacrifices are made when things are made to be sold at a low price point - it's just not always immediately obvious.

Your children won't respect you if you don't buy high quality tools. Buy.

Just buy from HF that has lifetime warranty... they honor warranty so well.

Imo, yes, they have a lifetime warranty, but from what I have seen, their stuff fails more often and you bring it in and they replace it. It may/may not fail again, but my money is on it failing again. My son paid a lot for a ratchet with 70 teeth or whatever. Supposed to be good, right? nope, the 70 teeth ended up getting all janky and he had to replace it.

If it started as quality, it probably wouldn't have ever failed. But hassle free warranty is nice at times if you are hard on tools.

I found the recipient of my "dumbest post of the day" award.

You're probably the guy who drops $600 on an 80" TCL tv and then tells people they are crazy for spending $3k on a 80" OLED because they look the same.

I'd rather just 'buy once, cry once' for certain things (esp if they're likely to see regular use), and not have to worry about a tool breaking in the middle of something important & having to make a surprise trip to HF hoping the broken item is still in stock and available.
This "HF warranty" stance also goes completely out the window if you're a long drive from harbor freight.

Fact is, a lot of the better tools @ Harbor Freight aren't even all that much cheaper than the original tools they're made-in-China clones of.

Your opinion of HF was true decades ago but these days it only applies to their low end product lines..... Most Icon tools are on par with the expensive brands. I say this as a guy who uses hand tools for a living and have tool chests full of knipex, snap-on, mac etc.
