YMMV but the fire tablets are limited to Amazons app store. Unless you use a workaround to add the play store. I found it annoying to keep re-adding the play store every time the tablet updates. You can stop updates but it's nice to have security updates every so often. However you might not need the play store like I do.

If you need speed, option up, get a more expensive tablet. I bought a Lenovo tab off an earlier deal and use it mainly as a digital picture frame - it was cheaper than a digital picture frame and gives me tablet features. Horses for courses. A hundred clams is only a hundred clams

These Lenovo tablets used to be awesome because they were really easy to root. I have a bunch of m9's for the kids and rooting is essential to install an ad blocker and disable all the junk they come installed with. Otherwise they are so bloated they barely function. Looks like Lenovo started locking them down recently. I bought the m11 for myself a few weeks ago and had a hell of a time trying to root it. Luckily I didn't upgrade to Android 15 since apparently it's not possible at all on that update. FYI.

Worth $100 to watch Netflix and Hulu on the plane, the surface pro they gave me from work won't run them.

Will this? Will the memory cause vide to lag?

Netflix and Hulu will be fine, they'll run on anything, including my daughters garbage Fire 6 or 7 kids tablet.
