Price match with bestbuy and use your amex offer 25 back on 250.
If you have multiple cards with same offer, buy bestbuy giftcards and use them for payment.
If used right - you can bring down it to 750 - 3 * 25 = 675$
Bummed that I missed this, possibly the best deal we've ever seen on a mac without special identity-based discounts? Didn't expect it to go away so soon, was deciding between 13 and 15

I have a feeling it will be back for Black Friday.
They still have like new for $727. Mine arrived this morning and was brand new, hadn't even been opened.
I had similar experience before. Seal on box was broken and resealed but MacBook Air had never even been unpacked. I have a theory that once Amazon gets too much overstock of a product they're not allowed to make a sale on, they will just take a certain percentage of stock and sell it as open box, getting around apple's pricing/sale control. But it's just a theory.

New to Apple laptops. Have had a phone for a LONG time. Do you need AppleCare? I won't be dropping my laptop...I've never gotten AppleCare for my phone. Thoughts?
I don't and I've been fine with 15-20 apple devices over the last 15 years or so. My MacBooks have gone around the 7-8 year mark until they start having problems.

I like having it for mine. I can afford $7/mo for AppleCare, but can't afford if it breaks and I'd be out $1400 out of pocket (or whatever the expensive repair would cost). I know one can self-insure, to some degree, but I'd rather pay a guaranteed $90/y and know I'm safe than risk being out a bunch of money, even if it's unlikely.
