The chinese aren't dumb since they are now selling cheap mini-pcs with backdoors to replace tplink routers when they use them to launch their cyberattacks against the US and Europe.

After the code didn't work for me, I went for Asus instead. I settled for the low-end WiFi 7 setup (the BD5), when I realized that I didn't need anything faster for the forseeable future, and because with my military discount (id.me), the 3-pack was only $250 (I think they have it on a Veteran's Day special).
I got it yesterday, and the stuff pretty much self-installed. Plug it in (main unit), and downloaded app. Told it my WiFi SSIDs and passwords. Then powered on the APs one at a time. Took about 10 minutes, but they literally just added themselves to the mesh. Truly painless. Signal strength and performance are way better than the old POS Orbi system I had (an ecosystem I will *never* touch again!) So far, I am quite satisfied with the price and performance.
