I got this combo kit. needed tools and battery as a soon to be new home owner myself.

Would love to hear peoples feed back if this is good or maybe wait for something else. Feel free to recommend any other tools for us new home owners!

Honestly it's a no-brainer for this price. You're getting six tools plus batteries for under 200 bucks. I already own the set which I bought piece by piece but highly recommend the set.

Got this 6 months ago - so far it has been great at meeting my needs. Only issue is that the blades wear out very quick - but I assume thats the case with all sets - just buy what you need on your own (carbide multitool blade, and a pruning saw blade for the reciprocating saw).
The two batteries have also been more than enough to carry me through my small projects without recharge, and the flashlight tool has been surprisingly useful. This being a Home Depot brand with 100+ tools, I doubt these will go away any time soon, so IMHO, a solid choice.
I have seen 'brushless' sets pop up for $300 or something on here, but imho, its not worth the investment for homeowners.

Agree. Hard to beat this price. Every piece included is needed and will cover all all your typical needs around house. I personally prefer smaller 12v tools and like skil 12v a lot.

Perfectly fine for diy homeowners, only pros would need brushless.

The skil 12v combos have come up on sale a few times.
I have both the Ryobi 18v brushed and the Skil 12v brushless. For stuff like the drill and driver the power is comparable.
Main advantage of the Ryobi is the sheer variety of tools available. Although Skil has the auto hammer which Ryobi doesn't. That's how I started my skil collection.

while skil is not the smallest, it maybe smaller than the ryobi. and i like their usb-c battery options.

Renovated my house with this set. In other words way more than a typical home project and only the oscillating saw motor bit the dust and I abused it trust me. Took to Home Depot few weeks later new motor good to go under the 3 year warranty. Don't hesitate to buy.

I hate that these kits always have the 5" circular saw

I don't suppose there's any way to substitute tools in the package? Several of these I already have.

Rep'd just bought a home and gonna break these in with some Costco Artika Sound-blocking wall slats. Pack of 4 price is down to 34.99.

Only glaring issue to me is they inflate the number with the useless light (sorry but everybody has a bunch of flashlights around) just so they can say X+1 tools instead of X. And the tool missing for me is the jigsaw.

But that said still a good deal and the jigsaw will be inexpensive to buy separately later.

Also, I believe you can get Chinese knockoff no name batteries for ryobi cheap on Amazon later. I have had good look with such a battery for my black and decker weedeater. So if I ever needed another battery I'd def do that. I think you can get higher capacity for cheaper than the branded batteries.
