In the past I remember reading that routers purchased in China vs USA (Amazon, etc) have a locked out restrictive firmware for VPN. I don't know if this is still the case though.

It's a tough call because of the massive storing in the US warehouses, anticipating tariffs. Many freight forwarders and customs brokers, did this very successfully, helping keep costs down on a lot of goods.

Ordered an Item from Japan and it turned out they Drop Shipped it from Twain. When the package arrived here in the states I got an Email from DHL indicating that I had to pay 20% Tariff even though I purchased from Japan and they are 15%. DHL would not deliver it until I paid and if I did not pay the Item would be sent back and NO Refund. No more orders unless the product is already here in the states.

Do we have to pay trump tariff (tribute) on it in addition to an actual price?

What a mess.. I ordered a simple 2.5 inch to sata adapter to mount a m.2 drive in a sata 2.5 inch enclosure, Order date: Oct,9,, 2025. I paid with Paypal so it was a "verified address" I have used since I opened my paypall account 25 years ago., yet the shipping they use, SpeedX, took until October 20 to it get to Chicago on its way to MSP from City of Industry California.. On the 21st I get a "out for delivery" notice (How is that possible when 12hrs prior it was in Chicago.) . Imagine my glee when I thought China to MPLS was only 10 days or so.. I was wrong..

Long story short, they seem to have fictious shipping programs in a effort to make the customers life complicated or wow them with bs. There is no way or link to get the thing straightened out either. I still wait..

Prior to this post, I double checked my facts.. How they can be trusted for something more than a few bucks is beyond me.. It is like ordering something from the back pages of popular mechanics.. Tracking? Why even attempt the lie.. I responded to a text from them trying to get info, so they have a phone # They think my home has a front gate or it is a office complex based on the explanations I get from them.. I googled the address on the invoice and sent them the link, and it clearly shows my house.. just a normal house on a normal street in the suburbs..

I call BS. Something happened, and the excuse is just a diaper to cover their ass. Oh and don't forget all the spam you get when your place your order.. Think it through b4 you buy.. I too expected the real issue was unpaid tariffs, but you would think that would be easier to say than obfuscating the shipping facts.

Well if you look at the order page, it says refunds are automatic after like 45 days. That is the extent of CS I see.. If I have to deal with PayPal, I am sure they are going to say the same thing. That is the territory you get into with over sea sellers..

It was only $2 to try these guys out, and I found out I wont be buying again.
