1. If you purchase directly from Ubiquiti you got a two year warranty instead of a one year warranty.
2. If you purchased from them directly, you also pay shipping, so the savings at Micro Center is actually higher.
Either way, the Ubiquiti equipment is great, especially if you use other items in there ecosystem which has been rapidly expanding.
If you are lucky enough to plug in your single router and it works, you don't need it. If you have a bigger house with multiple access points or ever need to troubleshoot (IMHO) its a ton easier than trying to figure out what's going wrong using a consumer router or cobbling together freeware network tracing utilities and sifting through MB of text data looking for your issue.
This blows them out of the water. Consistency, speeds, UI, everything is incredibly premium and very easy to use.
For those who stream and host their own cloud gaming, you'll never go back from WifiMan. Tailscale is wonderful, but the built in support for Unifi's VPN is next level.
I'm not going to tell you to get this at a great price, but I will recommend it with all of my heart. You'll love it.

This blows them out of the water. Consistency, speeds, UI, everything is incredibly premium and very easy to use.
For those who stream and host their own cloud gaming, you'll never go back from WifiMan. Tailscale is wonderful, but the built in support for Unifi's VPN is next level.
I'm not going to tell you to get this at a great price, but I will recommend it with all of my heart. You'll love it.

If you are lucky enough to plug in your single router and it works, you don't need it. If the plan is to just set it up and leave it sitting on a desk/table somewhere, get the Flint.
If you want to build a network to manage multiple devices, nothing really beats Unifi at this point. I'm of the mindset that your router and access point shouldn't live in the same location, but this is home and need dependent.
