Good is subjective. Remember, plenty of people eat at chain restaurants and call them 'good' while the same amount equally would never.
I've sat in a $1,000 Walmart chair at my aunt's house and was NOT impressed. Conversely, I've used a $110 back massager from Sharper Image that gives a much more powerful/deeper massage. So the answer is YMMV.

what happens when this inevitably breaks within 1 year?
I've bought a few of these and they last 3 - 4 years in my experience. So its $25/month. That's a deal to me. Otherwise buy it from Costco.and just return it whenever it breaks. This would be $2.5k there. I use it a couple hours a day while I watch tv. Its awesome for my bad back.

I bought one in 2017 that's still going strong. Paid $700 for it
