Pretty good price for 4x4 brushed. I paid $225 for the 1/10 version 3 years ago. It's a great starter car at 2S and an easy upgrade to 3S when you're ready for more speed.

This may be account specific, but I had a 30% coupon offer that took another $59.67 off.

Is it common for these to be sold without the battery and charger?

Most of your hobby grade stuff will be like that.

I know it is brushed, but 2S lipo and 1/8 means the car is way underpowered.

Beyond purchasing a 3S battery & charger, how do you fully upgrade to 3S? Is it a quick/easy process or should I just get something already fit for 3S and just run it below 100% (some remotes have a 70% and 100% toggle)?

Not a bad price, but I'd rather have brushless.

Excellent entry point for a 1/8 chassis.

This is really a 1/10. It's the Senton, Big Rock etc chassis size for 3s rigs.

I think you just need swap the motor to handle the increased current. The drive is already 3S rated.
