I also have other expensive guitars and name brand gear across the spectrum above, so I can compare the Monoprice to standard or upper end name brand gear, not only budget/no name. Just about all the Monoprice stuff I bought holds its own and is a great if not better value than the name brand stuff (even at sale price). If you want to dip your toes in the water and give Monoprice a try, I recommend it.
I'm posting this review because I never took the time to post reviews on Monoprice's site (and I really need to) because I'm genuinely appreciative of the things I've managed to buy from them over the years and especially at the sale prices they have offered. The glory days with tons of sales and opportunities was pre-pandemic. Happy to see some of these amps coming back on sale while gear prices everywhere are climbing.

It's really hard to make that comparison. The Mono sounds like a decent small tube amp with 2 knobs. It is enjoyable, but nothing more. This is a Laney Cub clone. You aren't going to be able to sim a Marshall stack from it.
The THR can be a versatile practice amp or recording tool. THR is like playing through a pair of tiny studio monitors with a modeling toolkit in front of you. If you are very volume restricted, it can be great, but it is similar to playing through headphones. I found it kind of uninspiring, but I think a better musician could get use from it. It doesn't replace a real amp, hence the "third" amp branding. If you want a sound different than a small box tube amp, it can definitely do that for you.

One cool thing you can do with this is run it with another amp. I split my signal coming out of my pedals and run one into my Fender Hot Rod and one into this Monoprice. The Monoprice adds a lot of high end sparkle and you can drive it really hard and get some cool breakup from tubes. It adds a lot to thicken out your sound.
Unless you need a very small amp due to space constraints or can't afford the extra $80, I'd go with the 15w version. It sounds better even at similarly low volumes, and doesn't fart out when you push it harder. It also has a more sophisticated tone circuit, a spring reverb tank, a gain stage and an effects loop.
