I ordered 1 of each of the three on clearance and paid $20 shipping. I own the basic black already and paid WAY more than these prices. Feels as good as most of my Benchmades. Killer price on the Exemplar models.

Good review of the model I have, there is a slight chance they've reshaped the G10 handles (these say they're GFN, so probably are) a bit on the new ones as they look a little rounder than the fully flat I have.

I know, right? I have one already and was looking generally in the direction of another crossbar lock and thought I haven't looked at HK in a really long time and had to do a triple take to make sure this was actually HK direct...I have not received a shipment notification yet, but this price was really hard to pass up on the others that I don't already have... It's like cheap Kizer money for Hogue or Benchmade quality...$20 shipping didn't even phase me either....It was the same for 1 or 3 knives (even tried 6). Still same $20 shipping.

Kniving is correct.....LOL......It's a pocket knife (on the larger side), but made in USA, w/ decent steel, crossbar lock and looks to be GFN handles (originals were G10). There is not another knife on the market in crossbar configuration that gets close to this price. Chinese, yes, but not made in USA and by Hogue.

As a guy with a few HKs I can tell you it stems from the running joke of HK's culture snobbery and they're indifference the the civilian market. They're overpriced, made of "superior" German engineering, they only go after government/military contracts, and they're overly complicated cause they're just better. As a person who buys HKs, I need to understand that I am not worthy and need to be thankful for the few guns they release every so often when they feel like with however they feel like.

I am also an owner of their more affordable VP9s, which makes me a brokey HK enthusiast wannabe that gets looked down on by USP owners; who get looked down on by Mark23 owners; who get looked own on by MP5 owners, who are then looked down on by HK rifle owners; which we are all posers beneath the operators that have real LE/MIL HKs.

Cheap, but atrocious.

A low price doesn't necessarily mean a good value, just as a high price doesn't mean a poor one.

But what does that have to do with the posted deal? These aren't even made by HK.......I hear what you're saying though..

The Benchmade Griptilian is the most odd looking knife IMO, but has sold hundreds of thousands of copies.....This is essentially a USA made clone of the Grip....for a third of the price. Your comment doesn't even discuss the value proposition......you might think they're ugly, but what does that have to do with value? This is probably close to dealer cost on these in an attempt to clear stock....

What do aesthetics have to do with value?

If it means nothing why do they make so many different knife designs, some being much more popular?

Does styling on clothes matter or just the material and craftsmanship?
