This is a 4 line T Mobile Essentials promo that pairs four iPhone 17s with about $100 a month for 24 months, best for families willing to port in and keep all lines active. The strongest upside is the phone value, with no trade in required and Costco or Sam's Club sometimes adding activation fee waivers and gift cards. Taxes, fees, and device taxes still apply, and some orders hit down payments or higher first bills. Port in rules are strict, with prepaid, MVNO, recent T Mobile, and non qualifying numbers often rejected, so the fine print matters.

Keep in mind that the free iphone 17s are based on a $1000 credit per line. The 17 with 256gb is $900. The 512 is $1030. So it makes more sense to pay $30 for the extra memory. Otherwise you are leaving money on the table.
Essential plan gives $830 credit per line and not $1000.iPhone 17 256gb is base version and its price is $830+Tax. If you add 4 lines and 4 iPhone 17 256gb models to your order, you don't trade in any phone, you maximize the credit of $830 back in 24 months per line and pay taxes for 4 phones upfront and 24 months bill only for services ($100+fees+tax/mo)

I plan to port in 3 lines to Tmobile (and get 3 x iPhone 17) and add a new new line for 4the one (no device purchase) so I can partake in 4 for $100. My question is what happens if I decide to drop the 4th line after six months ? Will I be risking the device credits on the three devices due to this ?
You will pay the device balance of remaining months. Other 3 lines aren't impacted

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If I may ask, did you try it yourself or how did you know about this ? I have asked numerous TmoblePhone reps and Costco reps and they seem to suggest I will risk device credits on other three lines if I shut the 4th line (that didn't have any device anyways). Still feels like going with 4 for $100 and roll the dice after few months by asking to shut down 4th line. Hopefully Tmoble will be able to tell me the risks clearly (then).

I have the simple choice plan 5 lines for $130 unlimted everything. This seems like a better deal for 4 lines. Is this deal worth the effort to leave and port back into tmobile?

No one is going to know since this is a new promotional offer that is unlike most of their other promotional offers of free lines or device offers. If I had to guess, this is most likely structured like T-mobile ONE 4 lines for $150 almost a decade ago, which was configured as a special SOC of ONE (unique plan code). If this a different SOC than the normal Essential plan, then there are 2 possibilities when you try to cancel line 4:

1) SOC stays the same: You still pay the $100 + tax + fees, since the SOC remains the same. This is similar to when someone goes from a family to individual (2 lines to 1 line) but T-mobile agent didn't force change the SOC, biller still charges the 2 lines SOC.

2) SOC changes to regular 3 line Essentials SOC: You will get billed 90 + taxes + fees, but you may get disqualified from the device promotions since your SOC changed. SOC changes will trigger an automatic re-evaluation of device promotions on your account, and you said the T-mobile agents have warned you that you may lose the promotions since technically this offer is not available on regular Essentials SOC. Will the system actually disqualify you? Who knows.

Personally, I would not chance getting disqualified since unwinding the line 4 cancellation can be a difficult task. I recommend getting a iPhone 17 on line 4, then just selling it for $400 - $500 brand new locked to T-mobile. That will pay for line 4 + more, and you get a line to use or give away. When 2 years are up you can cancel or port away.

You won't qualify. A new customer is someone who's been gone for 90+ days. Otherwise you are a winback, who get no promotions.

Verizon's 17 pro offer is a better deal. SDers in that thread is claiming to stack discounts so it's closer to $50 a month for 4 lines.

You can always wait for the Google Fi deal for unlimited at ~$12.50 if you port in four lines. $50 for four lines of unlimited everything, 50GB high speed prioritized, 25GB hotspot is crazy

Anyone manage to stack this 4 new phone @ $100 per month deal with Keep & Swtich offer? I'm with Verizon and have four phones only paid one year. But one phone just got smashed and the other is out of country. Family freedom won't work for me.

Thanks. don't think this is possible though.
