Is this allstate who used to be squaretrade?
If so, can I ask when was the last time you used them? Squaretrade used to awesome. Based on friends' very positive experiences I got it for a laptop and also had a great experience but that was years ago.
About two years ago I bought a refurb laptop via ebay that I wouldn't have spent that much on without the confidence I had in that service. A month in, the fan stsrted grinding and their support tried to get me to throttle the cpu to fix the noise. I declined and said I'd rather actually fix the fan. When I got it back it was filthy and had fingerprints all over it, and now the top shell was coming apart from the display. I sent it back again, got it back, and the mic was broken. A few months later the shell was coming apart again.
It's not what it used to be
I had a very positive experience with an Acer refurb laptop on eBay. They refunded the original purchase price and returned the HDD separately.

How's been your experience so far? Did the headphones come with the original accessories? How was the condition?
My experience so far has been fantastic.

The headphones arrived carefully packaged in a plain box (not the retail Sony packaging). Inside was the official Sony magnetic carrying case, wrapped securely in bubble wrap, along with a paper directing me to the user manual. The Sony case was flawless, no signs of use whatsoever.

When I opened it, the headphones themselves looked brand new: both original cables included, and not a single mark, fingerprint, or stray hair. I inspected them thoroughly in sunlight and couldn't find any imperfections at all.

Before pairing, I did a hard reset (as another user suggested) to clear any previous connections. Then I set them up in the Sony Connect app, where they were on firmware 2.0.2, I updated to 3.0.0 right away. I've been comparing them with my AirPods Pro 3 and playing around with custom EQ settings.

The sound quality and ANC are both excellent, easily above what I expected. This is my first over-ear set, and honestly, I'll be using them much more than I initially planned!

Anyone have any real world experience with these WH-1000XM6 versus the new Airpods Pro 3 in ANC? The technical reviewers show that the Airpods now technically beat these in noise canceling. Anyone have a similar real world experience? I'm sitting on the Airpods Pro 2 and the WH-1000XM5 waiting to upgrade both; hopefully, on/near Black Friday!

I've used the AirPods Pro 2 daily since launch (and the originals before that). On many flights this year, I relied heavily on the Pro 2 and would occasionally compare them to my son's older Sony XM3s. The Pro 2 held up well and offered great ANC, so I stuck with them, though the battery life on long travel days definitely forced me to pop them in and out of the case more often than I liked.

I was waiting to upgrade to both AirPods Pro 3 and possibly an over-ear pair, with ANC being my top priority.

After upgrading to the AirPods Pro 3, I was seriously impressed. In normal day-to-day use, the difference was noticeable right away. But on my first flight with them, the jump was big, going back to Pro 2 side by side felt jarring by comparison. So major win there.

At that point I debated just getting a second pair of AirPods Pro 3 to swap between on long trips. But I still wanted the benefits of an over-ear set (comfort, battery life, soundstage and easily connected to in flight systems), as long as I wasn't sacrificing ANC. Based on RTINGS and other reviewers, I went with the Sony WH-1000XM6, and not Bose or Sennheiser.

I haven't flown with the XM6 yet (Thanksgiving will be the first test), but I've been doing real-world comparisons. My takeaway: they trade blows.

• The AirPods Pro 3 beat the XM6 in certain frequencies. The XM6 beat the AirPods Pro 3 in others.

A good example:

• With a bathroom fan, the Pro 3 eliminated ~98% of the noise, while the XM6 did ~95%.

• But with the shower running, the XM6 were dramatically better. The Pro 3 cut maybe ~95% of the water noise; the XM6 felt closer to 99%+, I actually had to check if the water was still on.

So in my real-world testing so far:
Neither one wins across the board, and they actually complement each other extremely well. The Pro 3 are insanely good for an in-ear, and the XM6 fill in the gaps with better performance in certain noises plus the comfort/battery advantages of over-ear. I have also been really impressed with the larger sound stage and audio quality of the XM6 so far as well, especially after playing with EQ settings.

As an aside, my plan was to return these if I felt the ANC was a big downgrade from AirPods Pro 3, and as of right now, these have earned a place in my rotation!

YMMV: $10 off eBay coupon showing up on the item page for me. Says it is for eligible users who can see the coupon; use PayPal at checkout to unlock a discount. "Get $10 off your next purchase with PayPal"
$289.99 once applied, says it expires 11/22.

They are certified refurbished. Take a look at EBay's description of that.
