FWIW, the list price was auto-populated by SlickDeals. That being said, $219 is the correct list price. It was previously on sale for $119 at HD which is why the HD listing says it "was" $119, but some authorized dealers sell this kit for $219 (e.g., https://www.acetool.com/products/...i-tool-kit). Note that the bare tool sells for $179.

I am assuming the deal on the XR version that you are talking about was for the kit with the 1.5Ah battery. This one has a 2.0Ah battery. Given that many people don't change the speed setting (and they have a variable speed trigger) some people may value the extra 0.5Ah over the three speeds.

For full disclosure, the other difference between the XR and ATOMIC versions (other than the number of speed ranges) is the XR has a higher maximum speed (20,000 vs 18,000 OPM).

I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion but I have the XR version and find it almost useless with just a 2ah battery.

Yep. I personally like the variable speed trigger. It's one of the reasons I like the atomic version.

Hmm, I don't know why this deal has changed. I saw it on an in-store display and I believe it had an end date in December. Anyway, it may still be YMMV now.
