I gave up using my overpowered Dell that I always have issues with and back to using my 1 star Vava from many years ago that does the job - I use two monitors , one uses hdmi port on my machine and other uses the one on the Vava - I know its crap but every docking station flakes out on me for one reason or the other - I have a Lenovo docking station and it does not even work well with my Lenovo laptop

I feel your pain. Seems like since they stopped actually "docking", reliability is utter crap, regardless of the manufacturer involved.

The dell ones seem to be the worst

Just ordered the current one.. wish I'd seen the other 2 months ago... all I need is what this one provides, but wouldn't have minded the extras on the other.

When I was researching the larger one I came across the thunderbolt subreddit and people where saying that thunderbolt hubs with one "in" and three "Outs" like this one where the best since they uses a good Intel thunderbolt chip or something along those lines. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 are different in how the manage splitting the bandwidth and for some used cases 3 is preferred to 4. I just got this one by using the buy 3 items get 30% off. This plus two sticky notes for $32 out the door

Thank you for the heads up. That one was a steal, tbh, for the same price. This one is missing: hdmi, rj45, 2x usb-a, 3.5mm audio jack, sd card slot. It's not a bad price if you need one now and if it fits your use case.

"Output of 20V/5A"

Great way to pitch "input of 20V/5A required - hence the massive power brick."

Got the old one, hope we get a bus powered one eventually.

You won't find any bus-powered TB4 (40Gbps) hubs due to power requirement. You can find plenty of bus-powered USB hubs that do 5 to 10Gbps online for $10-$20.
