It's not worth it. Home Depot has brushless kit with batteries for $169.99
As opposed to this kit, which is a brushless kit with...batteries for cheaper?

This kit is a much better deal
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../322138483

Better drill & driver, marginally better 2ah batteries (at least they'll have the battery level indicator), and not purchased via Amazon.

Is the atomic better or just smaller?

Atomic is lighter and smaller. But also not as "rugged" let's say. Not as much torque, fine for personal use but not "commercial grade."

When the atomic line was created that was true. The differences are so minimal now that it's mostly moot.

Take the DCF850, which is the atomic impact driver. Before the 860 came out, it was the best impact driver they made which was similarly spec'd to the outgoing XR 887 which any pro using dewalt tools was using.

The recip saws, however, follow the expected lineup. Beefy XR --> Standard XR --> Atomic, though the atomic is a one handed saw and yet still powerful for most uses.

That was my understanding. Companies don't normally make things bigger than need be so you are usually giving up something going smaller.
