This Kamrui E3B mini PC is a compact Windows 11 Home desktop aimed at everyday use, home servers, and light media work. The Ryzen 5 7430U is described as a lower mid range chip, but the 32GB of DDR4 and 512GB SSD make it feel roomy for multitasking, Proxmox, and basic home office needs. It has handled Plex and Blue Iris well in real use, including 4K transcoding and six cameras, while drawing about 18W. The main limits are the weak Vega graphics for gaming and the gigabit ethernet and Wi Fi chip concerns on some units. A practical small box if you want modest power without much noise or bulk.

Anyone think these are going to hit a bit lower for Black Friday? Could use one for a lab environment for study/training but there's so many of these mini-PCs out there it's difficult to differentiate.

I got the firebat with the 7845HS, 16GB, 512GB for $234

Your right... it is difficult to know the differences between models. But you have to list your needs... do you need 1GB ethernet port or 2.5 or multiple or Raid 0 or Raid 1. Based on your answer you will narrow your search.

Also, you should see if the manufacturer has throttled the system. It is not a bad thing if it does but there are mini systems that are not throttled. You can find out based on the wattage of the LP1 and LP2 (use chatGPT to understand).

I ended up purchasing the Firebat A5P (7845HS, 16GB, 512GB) for $234 and this model is throttled. For me, the most important thing was having a decent GPU so I can try and play games and do emulations. I believe the 7845HS is AMD's weakest CPU that houses a 780m within. The AI 9 370 houses the 890M.

The Ryzen 7 7845HS is significantly more powerful than the Ryzen 5 7430U, due to having more cores and higher power consumption, while the Ryzen 5 7430U is focused on power efficiency and is best suited for everyday tasks. The 7845HS is a high-performance mobile processor designed for intensive tasks like gaming and content creation, whereas the 7430U is a lower-power chip for general productivity and thin-and-light laptops.

I don't see this as being a good deal compared to what I bought.

The one big issue is RAM. The price of RAM blew up recently. For both DDR4 and DDR5, you can easily pay $75 per 16GB of RAM. If some needs more than 16GB of RAM, that FireBat deal wasn't nearly as good. Since it came with 2 x 8 GB sticks (or so I heard), you'd have to essentially waste $75 worth of RAM and spend an additional $150 to get to 32GB.

Aside from the absurd prices for RAM right now, the one you got was a ridiculous deal. I thought long and hard about buying one even though I didn't need it. Enjoy your steal!

So I found 32GB Corsair DDR5 5600 never used on Facebook market place for $50.00. I personally like saving money on RAM... but I will only buy new hard drives.

I know this is overkill for browsing the web, but would this be energy efficient to use as a server for Plex and stuff?
Just for Plex I wouldn't recommend an AMD system as you won't be able to utilize hardware encoding. You'd be better off getting a used Dell Optiplex 7090 SFF or anything with an Intel CPU 7th gen or newer that supports Quicksync. If you're only running Plex locally (with no conversion) and want to run multiple Docker containers or VMs then something with this amount of RAM or greater is ideal but you're still locked in to only having gigabit ethernet.

Personally I'd recommend going with a used Optiplex due to the massive influx of computers that have entered the market as Windows 10 support officially ended. I would install Steam OS or Bazzite for PC gaming in my living room, and I am currently talking myself out of doing that now lol.

So I just purchased 16 x 2 = 32GB DDR5 5600 on facebook market place for $50 and I can sell this RAM for $30ish. Not too shabby.

I'm wondering why it has a "This is a frequently returned item" on it? I was thinking about getting it for proxmox and offloading my CPU/memory bound container workloads, and using my workstation for the graphics cards workloads and my day to day

So I got the firebat A5P for $234.00. 7840hs, 16gb, 512gb.

I already purchased 32GB of RAM on facebook for $50 and I purchased a gen 4 m.2 2TB harddrive for 115 new from newegg.

This is the issue...

I believe the lowest CPU you can get that houses the 780m is the 7840hs. The 780m is about 300% faster then this CPU's internal gpu.

So you buy this and no gaming EVER... you buy one with a 7840hs or better CPU and you can at least try gaming in the future.

And having a graphical card that is 300% faster is not a bad thing.

Gandalf, maybe you and a friend were there 3,000 years ago when PS2 mice were used?

How about for SteamOS, or Bazzite / Linux gaming box? This could be nice little setup.
