Anyone buy from them before? Mainly in 'good' condition

Everyone's definition of good isn't the same...

I actually picked up a refurb M1 pro from Woot about 2 months ago for just a little more than this but no extra 1 year warranty. It was considered excellent and there was not a sigle scratch and only had 50 cycles on the battery. Totally worth it. I've tried picking up a few refurbs from Ebay and the one I did manage to keep was in excellent condition but they also had the pictures of the actual laptop and batter cycle count so I knew what I was getting vs. these which use stock photos. The M1 Pro still holds up really well - for day to day office stuff with 30 tabs open, there's no difference compared to my M4 mac mini.

i've got basically this as my work development machine the last 3 years except with 32GB....

(if I hadn't dropped it and dented the back it'd look pretty "refurb excellent")

the discount is definitely nice, and to this day an m1 pro is still really fast feeling. I'm actually about to get my machine refreshed for an M4 next year, and I'd guess a lot of these refurbs come from corporate users like me (my machine, is at 124 cycles 86% battery, which is probably on the higher side of decent for 3.5 years) and has plenty of life left. Probably a good deal since it was probably a $2k laptop 4 years ago but I'd feel like a m4 air honestly would be almost as good for only a little more unless you really want the slighty larger screen and like hdmi port etc.

The MacBook Pro has a vastly superior screen, promotion, hdr and better speakers than the air, but the air is newer and one can add AppleCare to it.

Its the condition of item advertised by seller, you will never know the real condition until you get it. So he/she was just asking for experiences buying "ADVERTISED " good condition items.

I have been softly Mac shopping for months. The price to performance here made me buy one! On par with the M5 Pro -- at less than half the price!

Memory bandwidth, storage speed, and everything else are on par with M4 as well! M4 pro has more screen nits, but I can take that compromise to save $800.

lol the MacBook Pro M1 is far away from on Par with M4 or M5, the first generation MacBook Pro M1 had the regular M1 build the only difference is it does not thermal throttle like the MacBook Air M1 but the CPU by it self is the same speed.

you can get an M4 Mach Book Air for this Price which is in all benchmarks and real world applications fast than this old worn and abused M1 MacBook.

how can this be an deal ??? an actual M5 is just 1400 , brand new this over 4 year old used abused tech is selling for 50 % LOL

buy cheap buy twice

This is an M1 Pro chip my guy. It's two M1 chips bolted together. Not a normal M1. M1 Pro chip is on par with the M5.

There's a $50 off coupon which makes it less than $600, and a very good condition one from the same seller for $605 after the coupon
https://www.ebay.com/itm/376404345073

That said, a new M4 MacBook Air can be had for $750 which has a passmark beating that of an M1 Pro CPU by 10-20%, so unless the brighter and denser screen is what you're after, I'd go for the M4 MacBook Air.

Even though youre paying $150 extra? Also the M1 Pro has 512GB SSD instead of 256...
