Funny, there is a neighborhood near me that has them on almost every house, and the cheapest house is just over $1.1m. They don't look like ass if they are installed right. I priced out the actual light company that does them and its right around $8,000 but they have a 20yr warranty. Not sure about the warranty of these, but for $500 for 2 strands, I think I will gamble.

$3,000 in installation wasted when Govee shuts down their servers or switches to a monthly fee to use it.

Is $3000 a real installation quote??? I installed mine last weekend. It was a longer 150' strand on a 2 story house. About 10 hours of up and down the ladder which was absolutely no fun at all --- but I could only wish I was worth $300 an hour 🤣

And I didn't just use the stickies, I did a full screw in install with precise measurements. If you're just doing the 100' strand, it couldn't take more than 8 hours. Probably closer to 5 hours for a one story house

I'm probably under estimating the cost

I had done extensive researh on this, the ones that Costco sells, along with Lowe's and others are the Govee "Elite", which is exact same as the "Govee 2" product that you see on Govee's website. The Govee 2/Elite version is the second generation of their original product which is quite an upgrade, but it is still not quite as good as the "Pro" version. There are a lot videos out there that does the full comparisons.
