The RAM mentioned in the description is correct, it's 16GB and that's what is mentioned.

This seems like a pretty solid deal in my lay opinion, for a web surfer and basics accounting purposes?

Reading is fundamental, 12MB...as in MEGAbytes refers to the L3 cache on the processor. 2 x 8GB as in GIGAbytes refers to 2x8=16GB of ram.

Have you thought maybe they fixed it after I posted the comment? It said LP before. Like don't know what ram and cache is.
Look at you explaining MB and GB. lol

That was the title, not the description, as you mentioned in your comment. The description is correct, but yes, the title was fixed after your comment. Thanks for that.

I don't see any mention of backlit keyboard. I assume they would mention that if it had it? Looking for a budget laptop but that feature is high on my list.

Looking for a laptop replacement for my spouse. I've done some research and narrowed it down to the Lenovo Ideapad line. What do you think of these three models, all priced in the same ballpark (and no, they do not need a fingerprint reader or touchscreen?

The posted ideapad 5i at $429

or

The Ideapad 1i, currently $469 at BB: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/l...JJGSHX7VVK

or

The Ideapad 1, currently $530 at BB: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/l...JJGH3YQ6RJ

Thank you!

Thank you!
I haven't looked into either of these laptops beyond the specs on the links you provided but the 1i seems like the clear winner here. Cheaper, has a CPU that's about 40% better than the alternative, a brigher screen, slightly longer battery life, more RAM, and more storage. I'm unsure how good of a deal the Ideapad 1i is in general but it seems clearly better than the Ideapad 1.

Anyway, on the topic of this thread's laptop: Anybody got any info about the display's color gamut? Unless I missed it, I don't think it's in the listed specs on the sales page.

EDIT: Searched around a bit; appears the display is 45% NTSC. Unfortunate.

This is way overkill for those tasks but being as something that's perfect for those tasks is only $90-120 cheaper it's probably worth it. But plenty of ~$300 laptops that can do those tasks just fine for years to come
