Great deal on a great rig. Even has a gyro in it now. I own two of the these from the prior release version. Fantastic platform. Recommend getting a 3s lipo or two for it. 5200mah is a good sweet spot.

I have this. It's an amazing RC, the only issue I had was with the axles popping off

Looks like this model has the crappy 2 in 1 esc that keeps burning up.

My first Arrma was the Big Rock 3s (not the 223). It's my most robust of all of my cars and I still use it to this day, even though I have many others.

This is a great deal. These don't go on sale often. I don't know about the reliability of the 223 series, so best to keep yourself up to date on it.

Recommended upgrades in order:
- Buy yourself threadlocker!! Use it on the wheels:
https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-He...B000I1RSNS
- Do a full inspection before riding. Tighten down wheels with threadlocker
- Servo upgrade. I can recommend more expensive ones, but if you want to go cheap, something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/ZOSKAY-DS3...B01MU7TQV8
https://www.amazon.com/ZOSKAY-Wat...B07GLMDJQ7
https://www.amazon.com/ZOSKAY-Cor...B07S9XZYN2
Make sure the horn is compatible.
- stock shocks or OK, but if you send it regularly you'll want something else. So many choices, PM me if curious
- M2C Chassis brace. They're pricey, but if you're sending it on the regular, you will understand why I recommend it
- New diff yoke (housing), especially in the rear, aluminum, like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MPZCTK2
- Rear diff swap to metal, the 4s lineup has these that some places sell. Wait until it dies first. Don't have to, but I swapped the yoke and the rear diff after it died

There's a lot more you can do, but those are some of the first few ones. Servo and tightening down wheels and spot-checking other fasteners are top priority.

Batteries, just read up reviews. I've used SMC, Ovonic, and CNHL and appreciate them all. Get yourself a two-pack of 3s, and if you can shell out the funds for it, this is my favorite charger for many reasons (don't feel like typing it all):

I had that too. Just use a drop of blue thread locker when you reinstall the axle screw.

For someone just getting into this hobby, should the offbrands like DEERC on amazon be considered? Looks like they bundle them with 2 3S batteries and the charger for half the price.

ARRMA, they have great customer service. And if, or when you need replacement parts your local R/C store will have the parts- if you're lucky to have a store close by.

They all haul butt and you will crash them. Do you want parts and support to repair it or would you just trash it and move on? Something to consider when dealing with the modern RC toys. A rock crawler isn't going to see the same risks. I have Arrma and Traxxas and they are both great for this stuff. My cheap ryobi 18v truck works but i've had to rig it up (it is ryobi's cheap toy) with extra parts and ingenuity. Go with what you can live with..
