Wow, in before they fix this price mistake. Engraving bumps price back up to normal ($99).

Making way for the gen 2, this is a very good deal! This is lower than the Amazon resale pack of 4 deal as well!

my receipt price change from $31 to $107..?
Same. This should be interesting. Maybe they are jacking the price post-order trying to get people to cancel. I'm not falling for it. If they don't want to sell a 4-pack for $29, then cancel my order yourself, but don't try to change the price on me after I have an email showing the $29 price!!

Not only did they fix the price, but my order in the Apple Store is now showing they are charging me $99, but my EMAILED order shows $29. I paid with an Apple account balance so I'm not looking forward to the Apple fight I'm about to have. Grrr..
Same!!! So annoyed

Exactly, it's illegal to do that.

They pulled the bait and switch on me too - order confirmation showed $29.99, when I clicked through the order status link, it showed $99.99.

Shady as fark.

Update: Since I paid with an Apple Account balance, I was able to see my history in my Apple Wallet. Apple STORE is showing $99 but Apple WALLET is showing they are pulling $29...although it says "pending"....so I'm taking screen shots at every step. Bring it on, Apple!

did your price change? seems like they updated the price even on the receipt, not even notifying or cancel the order.

Anyone did their order using Paypal? My order on apple now shows $99 but on my paypal it still shows @29. No new changes though? 😲🤔
** Update at 2:00 PM EST. I also received the cancellation email like others. As a backup i had pricematched with BB and ready for store-pickup 😀👍

Still showing low price on wallet app and Apple Store app as far as I can tell. I used Apple Pay so maybe that has to do with it?

i used apple pay too. But mine is for delivery in late November. The actual receipt on the apple store app show the price change for me vs the email sent at the time order was placed.

I did cancel my second order, but I don't think there was active thought put into the price to get cancelations as you suggest.

Modern ecommerce runs on distributed systems; storefront, inventory, order processing, and payment all operate semi-independently. When you order, the confirmation uses the storefront's pricing data. But when it moves to "processing," fulfillment systems pull fresh data from master databases, which is likely when the discrepancy surfaced. These systems aren't synced in real-time when the volume is way out of scale, so a pricing error in one part can take time to propagate. It's probably not Apple trying to get people to cancel, just their backend catching an error the frontend missed at checkout when someone made an emergency change to correct the price when SlickDeals set off some volume of sales tickler.
