This usually goes for $1650, and sales are often only at the end of the season to clear out stock. So if you're looking to buy one before the snow starts falling and not have a good chunk of warranty burn up before you've even used it for the first time, this is a good chance to snag it on sale.

I can't speak from owning any EGO products, but is that unit that much better than the PowerSmart 80V setup? https://a.co/d/aMlCQc5. $649 with one battery and $889 with two batteries. Serious question, I need a new snow thrower..

Honestly, the Ego snow blower probably isn't much better, if it even is. But what you're partially paying for with Ego is a brand with strong name recognition and a wide variety of tools that use the same batteries. For me, picking a brand and staying within their ecosystem for tools tends to be the most convenient and cost effective. This is the first I've ever heard of PowerSmart, so I can't speak to them, but I have a half dozen Ego tools now and have been happy with all of them.

Agree. Also lots of ego and batteries. But $1400 is too much for this

I have no idea how PowerSmart is.

I do have several Ego products and they are well engineered and manufactured. I have not had a problem with an of my Ego products except for a battery purchased with a closeout chainsaw when Home Depot stopped selling Ego. Ego replaced the battery quickly.

All my Ego products work well and I woud buy again. They are more expensive than gas models, but their lack of maintenance makes it worthwhile for me.

Another benefit of Ego is all their products can use all their batteries. Although you would not want to use a 12 Ah battery in a string trimmer becuase it is too heavy and you don't need that much power for a string trimmer.

I have gas Ariens snow blowwer for almost 15 years with minimum maintenance except oil change annually. This battery EGO is hyped, expensive and sub par in comparison comparison from gas powered. You also forget the time consuming to remember maintain the battery during the winter or extremely cold time.

Everyone knows the battery powered stuff is overpriced because you are paying a premium for convenience. Not sure what battery "maintenance" you're talking about. There is no maintenance on batteries, The "time consuming to remember" to charge batteries is not worse than to have gas in your gas powered snow blower. Want something cheap and powerful? Go gas. Want the most convenient thing? Battery powered.
