I may say something incorrect here but IIRC I didn't like tracphone. Their billing was problematic and support bad. Dropped calls. They sublease from Verizon network. I ended up with Mint that I like MUCH better I think they are on TMobile network. This phone I believe is locked to trac and is $30 at bestbuy if you want to try this. I am much happier on Mint now.

Called them three times. quickest resolution of all the providers I contacted (cricket, infi, total, verizon, metro). So individual experience may vary i guess.

Just for reference, My whole family has been on Tracfone for over 8 years now. No complaints here. From the occasional support issues that we have run across and needed to call in, their people (mostly based in the Philippines I believe) have been stellar. As long as you are kind and respectful to them, they'll usually go out of their way for you. I learned that with 25 GB of data showing up on my account. Other than that, you are correct, They use Verizon towers.. I haven't had any dropped calls with them, and I live in cow town country.

I picked up two (2) Moto G Plays last year for about $45 from HSN. THEY are slow as dirt, but they work. If this Nokia model is slower than the G Play ... WOW

Great for you. I had them not process my auto rebills so phones randomly stop. Then on the help line took a payment again when that wasn't the problem, and with these prepaid if you apply another payment mid-cycle you lose months from your unused paid remaining. He could not undo or correctly do what he did and I lost a hundred bucks. These sublease companies agree to put you at the lowest priority. So if you use the expensive branded service you don't get dropped calls or kicked off. In my area it was almost daily. My data was so deprioritized it often would not work as you ordered fast food on the app to get a deal. The app would not load and process. Many web pages would not even load just time out. My extended family had them for years prior to Mint and it only got worse for us. This was on all our new model phones with enough data left so not one person with an old phone or not knowing their data was gone.
How long does it take to unlock a tracfone? Is it a Sim card? Esim. Both?
I was only interested if they were unlocked. I looked at the bestbuy moto G and saw words one year. I just stopped reading right there as I don't want any trac phone even 3 months so unless someone finds the info you will need to research.

If you bought it last year in 2024, that probably was the 2023 Moto G Play.
This year, most of the two (2) Moto G Play bundle are 2024 model, which is much better than 2023 model.
