I've heard their support is pretty worthless if you need anything. Besides that, how is the app, setup, overall quality?

edit: one of the reviews: "The system is relatively easy to set up and the video quality is good. If you try to play back video on the recorder with a monitor attached you can only see one camera at a time. However, you can see up to four cameras at a time on your mobile device or on the computer. SERIOUS FLAW: One of the cameras stopped working (no power). As soon as it died I could not access the video that's stored on the hard drive for that camera. Tech support confirmed that the video is "attached" to the camera and the replacement camera won't be able to access. it. That means a thief can destroy or steal the camera and you'll never know what happened."

Why CCA wiring should be avoided

Poor performance: CCA has higher resistance than pure copper, which can cause significant data loss and slow down network speeds, failing even standard tests for cables like Cat5e and Cat6.
Safety risks: The higher resistance of CCA cable is not safe for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications. It can cause voltage drops, leading to overheating and potential fire hazards.
Lack of certifications: Most CCA cables are not certified by organizations like UL, ETL, or TIA because they don't meet commercial-grade standards. An exception is when CCA is used in specialized applications where it is approved, but this is not the case for standard networking.
Poor durability: CCA is more brittle than pure copper, making it more likely to break during installation or use. This can lead to cable failure and require re-cabling.
Misleading labeling: Many vendors sell CCA cable and incorrectly label it as compliant Cat5e or Cat6 to appear as a good value. These cables do not meet the performance specifications of standard copper cables.

No offense but that's completely false. The camera won't have a microsd card inside it. It's attached via ethernet and goes to the dvr. If a thief stole the dvr you'd have nothing. Not an individual camera. They do make cameras with micro sd cards inside but these won't be the models.

What are the better applications? In my experience, they always get covered in spider webs. I don't see that nearly as frequently with domes. Additionally, the bullets have big holes where the screws go on the back and these nasty creatures burrow in. Looks like mud, washes out like worms. Finally, I've had 3 reolink bullets fill with water, but not any of the domes. The domes, however, did have some IR failure on 1 unit.

No offense but that's completely false. The camera won't have a microsd card inside it. It's attached via ethernet and goes to the dvr. If a thief stole the dvr you'd have nothing. Not an individual camera. They do make cameras with micro sd cards inside but these won't be the models.

Several years ago, I stopped buying reolink cameras after realizing about half that were outside would fail within months to a year if exposed to direct or wind blown side rain and warranty replacements were wasting too much of my time. They would usually recover themselves after a few days of drying out until eventually failing completely after multiple rains.
I have not had this problem with other Chinese brands of outdoor cameras, which had a ~1/20 failure rate over the same time period for cameras costing 1/3 - 1/2 of the reolinks. The last time I purchased a reolink camera was several years ago, so maybe they have fixed the water sealing problem. However, I experienced it with cameras made over a 3 year manufacturing window, which makes me think they are slow to fix design issues.

Wow, what an interesting thread. I bought these earlier this year for about $550 with some costco-instacart deal. They're ok enough that my GF bought them for her house for $600 last week. I do not fully have either set up yet. As you can imagine, it's not the easiest thing to take down and return if there is a problem, so all the system is minimally up and recording. This is my 3rd set of security cameras as I keep upgrading my system. Big holes to let the Ethernet connector through was already done.
The short of it is that these are not serious security cameras. The craziest design flaw is that you can unscrew the dome off the base with your hand. Categorically, security cameras are risky because these companies don't do a good job with updates. I have mine on it's own VPN so it's firewalled off away from everything else. Frames per second probably won't be able to get a plate off a moving car

So why did I get it for our houses? Mostly to be able to check on things away from home, deter amateur thieves, maybe help catch some criminal in my neighborhood. If that's okay for you, they're quite a deal!

Just wanted to say I bought this about a year back and I have been amazed at the abuse the cameras take. I have them on in a home I am fixing up and havent got to mount formally outside yet. Lot of "ooopps" mistakes, including on to a cement floor at a 28" drop... several times. All still work flawlessly. I realized I was taking a gamble with them laying around but monitoring like I needed them to, and they definitely handled the spontaneous stress test.
