While ~17$ per tool would be great for other Knipex pliers these are just snap-ring pliers.
The Icons have ability to perform the same jobs just aswell.
Neither brand is going to break or wear out doing it's job.
The Icon often go on sale for 30-40% off.

i have the icon set...it works fine. but quality wise some of the pins just look off.

wish i had an excuse to buy these

While some icon tools are comparable to high quality tools, not the case with these. The knipex are much better.

So I believe there are some tools you don't scrimp on and snap ring pliers are one of them.

Torque wrenches are another.

If you are working on weak snap rings or circlips, then the ICONs are probably fine. But if you are working on heavier duty ones, which is a thing, the tips can snap off.

I have never had a tip snap off a quality set like these but I have on cheaper ones.

I will say that my goto are the Hi-Tech set. They are made in the USA and they made all Snap On circlip pliers in the past.
