Ehhh. The 7000 model (which I assume is an older version of to this one), gets kind of sub par reviews.

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/up7000

For the price and for a 65" from a name brand, it is probably OK but nothing great imo. Personally, I hate all things LG since every appliance I have had from them (washer, dryer, refrig) either was poorly designed imo or broke pre-maturatey, but that is obviously anecdotal. I would wait to see what Black Friday offers, but that is me.

Um, what? Magic Remotes are excellent, in my experience, but the post doesn't say this TV comes with a Magic Remote, anyway! So I don't know what you think you're trying to say, but you're misinformed all around...

While the picture on LG TVs are good, the UI and magic remote make the TV unusable. The Magic Remote was a solution in search of a problem that never existed. Somehow worse is the UI. While I expect this from TV manufacturers at this point, the volume of ads is disgraceful. Finally, the frequency of software updates is excessive. Easily one per week if not more. No other TV I've had has near the amount of updates. LG either needs to write the UI code well the first time and so many will not be needed or contract it out if they don't have good enough software engineers.

I can't believe they use the AI gimmick to advertise TVs these days.

I have to admit that's a very interesting, 'please-buy-me' price for a 65"

Just bought this 65" LG. Had been waiting for months for a <299 TV and using an old 32" Funai top of the line from possibly stone age in 1999? so this is a decent upgrade.

optional historical junk:

The last tv I bought with my employee discount was over $1500. I used to sell TV's. It was a 55" LG 3Dtv from 2014 and finally went out this summer when the hard drive was absolutely corrupted. It could no longer boot to the setup menu even after I reset the TV a few times and got it working for a week or two.

Had the magic remote, which I hated:You can't connect anything to that TV, not even the basic tv tuner if you can't get to the smart menu, which requires internet and typing in the password using the remote. Keys on the remote had broken so I couldn't type in the password. eventually I hacked my wifi password and finally got back in to my own tv. 10 years is solid and it only had minor issues like slight burn in from leaving roku on 24/7.

Processor/Software/Sound: I went with this LG because the webOs and decent processor. I don't use any of the ai stuff and mostly watch youtube, prime, or 1080p media. After changing a few setting the sound actually blew me away. I really like the software on this Tv, all the apps I need are there and the menus are easy to navigate. This does not have a magic remote, it's just a basic useful one.

I haven't used any of the LG channels, which it apparently has. Having a Roku I haven't even used it yet because the apps I use were available on the webos. Absolutely happy with the responsiveness.

Picture: The quality is absolutely fine for my needs and I'll upgrade to some 4k media so I can enjoy the TV's maximum quality. Coming from the 32" tv I had gotten used to is comical to now have a TV that takes up half the living room instead of squinting to read the menus. I watched some football the other day it looked fantastic. The stand was a point of contention due to the legs being on the outer 1/8 of the tv and not closer to the center, it literally barely fits on the TV stand we had.

Value TLDR:
At 350 it's an okay deal. Not the steal I was hoping to grab, however the convenience of the features and performance offer everything I need at the price I was willing to accept. Completely happy with this one.

Comparable Deals:

>Almost purchased the 279 Westinghouse with 3 year warranty from BJ's I thought was an appliance store, but realized its' a club and didn't want to deal with their membership or the "one day pass" thing.

>The other near buys were TCL and Insignia at 280/290. I didn't want the Fire software and preferred Roku TV since that is what we use. I was worried about the responsiveness and software of these tvs so they were eliminated, but might be fine if your budget is righ at that 300 range since they are $50-70 cheaper.

>The Roku Onn at walmart for 300 hasn't dropped in price and the reviews are terrible. I might have made an exception for if they had it cheap enough, maybe 230 range because that would have saved another 100+ dollars for a possible replacement.

I know this is a long pointless opinion review, but I've scored good deals here and hope this might help someone.

This TV *checks notes* does NOT ship with the Magic Remote. Ads are able to be fully disabled in the menu. How can you possibly complain that a manufacturer is being too responsive to software issues by giving out updates? Just turn off auto update if it's so bothersome.

The magic remote is great... the gyroscopic cursor makes it so much faster to enter info... but I still prefer the Apple TV

I wish I could be more helpful, but after a little bit of searching I can't find if this is an IPS panel or not. I have a nice 65" LG TV with an IPS panel from maybe 4-5 years ago. It works great, and looks great. Most reviewers will instantly ding a TV if it has an IPS panel for poor black level performance, but I still prefer them over TN and VA panels. I don't use my built in TV OS. Just don't hook it up to the internet. To that one dude talking about bad appliances.. that has nothing to do with tvs. Our family has run through several Samsung refrigerators and washing machines. That just seems to be the quality expectations now unless you're buying a known good brand like speed queen. It would be like equating the quality of my LG V60 to TVs. It's been a good phone, but the USB c port is crapping out.

I can't find what panel this has, but it has VRR up to 60hz. It has ALLM, and Alexa if your into that. Bluetooth seems dated at 5.0. I would have liked to have seen at least 5.2, but what really are you using that for on a TV? Speakers? I would just leave this TV off the Internet, and use it as a dumb tv. I would buy one of these over a TCL or Hisense. I also like LGs for playing things from a USB!
