You aren't kidding. I scored 32GB for ~$36 after AMEX 30% off about 6 weeks ago. It went on back order after I purchased. Waiting 6 weeks for it to be delivered while RAM prices were going up near every day was nerve wracking. Would have cost me at least 3x more if Amazon didn't come through in the end.

The only real limitation going with a B450 (vs B5x0) board with a 5500 is the 2nd slot is limited to PCIe 2.0. In this case, at least you get an x4 slot which is faster than an 3.0 x1 slot. This board's expansion options are very limited otherwise.

Motherboard is like from 2018 . The b650 with 9600x was $295 and with the gift card deal it was $275 out the door @ newegg for current gen.

Yea for the extra 100 it's worth it for newer AM5 and 9600x blows the 5500 out the water

And then you add DDR5 to that and a cooler and you're easily spending at least twice this much. Not everyone has 400...some people only have 200 and are using an intel 4th gen. Who the hell are YOU to gate keep?
