Wondering the same, guess for $3 they could be garage towels if they don't cut it.

I saw, here's hoping! I had pretty good success with some Sams Club towels I picked up, but you REALLY have to wash those out first with all of the lint. They went on sale about 4 months ago and didn't get a lot of them because of the lack of faith in them ... then never saw them again. They are not the hotel premier line...

I would say so. Department Store towels are about what Walmart was selling less than two decades ago.

You realize that is not a good sign of quality construction right?

But they were $4 for huge beach towels. Cost / performance is a big factor to people, elitist. If I get a brand-name new vehicle for $10,000 and it has all the abilities as a $70,000 one but I have to put up with a couple of minor inconveniences before putting it on the road that do not impact its abilities or safety? I'll take that bet.

I can afford whatever towels I want, no problem. I have used 5-star hotel towels and cheap towels. My current favorites are a Macy's brand that no longer sells towels. I'm happy to try on these.
Cheap towels are often better because, without all the factory fabric softener, they absorb well right away instead of 5 washes after new, give off less lint, and are lighter so they're easier to wash.

Bought them from JC Penny, it was actually Feb 2020 on special. Shipping took a looking time (3 weeks or so), but they were fine when I got them. My only worry is whether the quality has went down since I bought them.

They keep changing the price.

First time I went it was $2.99 but when I got to the check out it was $4.99 but then when I went back to the listing it was $3.99 if I use the coupon code and when I went back the fourth time it was $4.79 with a coupon code.
