You don't ride this train to save money. You ride this train to save your sanity by not having to deal with traffic on i70 and berthoud pass. I70 this year is gonna suck even more than previous years due to the extra construction from the widening projects.

Folks shouldn't forget the Bustang and Snowstang. If you're like me and don't do WP, for example, it's a decent option. Sure, it's through I-70 traffic, but you're just obliviously reading your novel through all that crap 😁.

Don't bother wasting your time on this shady promo. I already checked for all of you. I couldn't find a single ticket for $9 on any of those dates. Most dates were $41 each way per person and only a tiny handful of days had $29 each way fares and maybe 3 days had $19 fares. They must have had maybe 2 tickets at $9 which probably got taken the split second the page came up. LMAO

Random question - are there toilets on these trains or people just hold it for a few hours?
Naw, they offer piss bag and buff bags for additional cost 🤣

The train can get very expensive if you're paying for your family vs shoving your buddies and fam into a SUV. This is only fair deal if you're going solo.

Amtrak has a notorious reputation for serious crashes and lots of fatalities. Your odds of dying on an Amtrak are greater than getting shot by crossing the border into North Korea.

Thant's only because 99% of the population drives. If we had as many people riding Amtrak as we had driving cars, their numbers would be horrific. Here's a list of notable injuries/fatalities on Amtrak which blows away the fatalities on planes.

Has anyone even scored a $9 ticket? I sure as hell haven't found one yet. Cheaper to just rent a car and split the rental and gas with your buddies.

I believe op meant $9 was half price tickets for kids. Tickets are $19 OW when the WPE operates.

That's not how statistics work. Transportation safety is normalized to miles: https://injuryfacts.nsc.org/home-...tion-mode/ Rail is drastically safer than car or bus.

Did you read that link you posted?
It said 7 passenger fatalities in the past 5 years. 4 of which were due to a dump truck blocking a gate crossing. Have fun in North Korea.

This is directly from their website: "One-way fares start at $9, with kids fares (age 2-12) starting at just $4.50."

None of these tickets exist, not even for the kids. Complete bait and switch scam!
