Since I am part time with my employer I do not have a company email address. LG Partner store would not accept my personal email address. I tried it over a dozen times and for some reason it finally accepted and I was able to register and complete the ordering process. Your mileage will definitely vary.

This 45 inch 5K2K OLED curved monitor stands out for immersive gaming and strong productivity on a huge, sharp canvas. Battlefield 6 at native resolution and HDR is described as exceptional, and the panel looks gorgeous with a curve that feels natural for gaming. For work, the 125 PPI layout fits native scaling well, MacBook Pro and Mac mini use is reported as flawless, and the curve can help keep edge content aligned. The main caveat is that the 800R curve can feel too aggressive for CAD, spreadsheets, and other straight line work, and native 5K gaming demands a very powerful GPU.

It was $1215 when using the code EXTRA10. But now it's no longer working on this monitor. Also noticed they changed the look of the site on the checkout screen.

How is this for general productivity and/or photo and video editing? Have had my eyes on the Dell one with Thunderbolt hub, but this seems like a good deal. Also, anyone know if Apple fixed the issue with the M4 chipset doing 5K2K? All I find online are a bunch of complaints about it from late 2024, but no follow-ups.
I bought this the last time it was this price. I bought it primarily for productivity and it is the best monitor I have used. Personally I think 115-125 PPI is perfect because it can be used at native scaling so you don't need to sacrifice screen real estate to make things larger. Also use this with a MacBook Pro M3 and it's flawless. I'd just recommend some sort of window manager like moom to make it easier to take advantage of all that screen. Before this I used a 38" 4K monitor which I chose specifically for the PPI. I had 2 25" 1440P monitors in portrait on either side. It worked pretty really well but this monitor gives me close to the same screen real estate as those 3 monitors, but in a much cleaner package. Plus it looks incredible. The curve is also really beneficial. On my 38" 4K, I found myself physically moving to align with content on the edges of the monitor. With the curve on the LG, this is no longer an issue. The only way I think you could get better than this for productivity would be to take the same PPI and go DUHD like the odyssey neo G9 - but that would end up being like 64".

This is definitely just preference. I also use this for productivity and love the curve. Coming from a flat 38" 4K I find this much more comfortable to use. Also the 5K2K monitor that was recommended is 40" which brings you to 140PPI instead of 125PPI for this monitor. While some argue that higher PPI is better, I don't think that's always true. For me, 140PPI makes text and UI too small at native scaling, so you end up needing to use 125% or 150% scaling which means you just end up losing screen real estate. 125PPI is just about as small/sharp as you can get without needing to scale the UI.

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback. I'm still trying to figure out if the M4 issue with 5K2K has been resolved. From what I can see on the Internet people who had no problems with earlier generation M chips had issues with the M4 line on their 5K2K monitors. Something about the HiDPI feature not working correctly and text being blurry.

Im giving ya'll a warning. The curvature is too much for productivity. I bought it and returned it within a week. If you want a 5k2k for productivity, there is a new model from the ultrafine line up that has thunder bolt 5 and support up to 120hz

I think they are referring to the LG 40U990A [lg.com], which is 40" instead of 45" and IPS LCD instead of OLED. It uses the same IPS Black panel as the Dell Ultrasharp U4025QW [dell.com].
There is also an older variant - the LG 40WP95C [lg.com], which uses an older IPS panel with a lower contrast ratio. (LG produces IPS Black panels that have an improved contrast ratio, compared to traditional IPS panels. Dell and BenQ and I think HP are all offering monitors using IPS Black panels from LG.)

As far as I know, this is the only 45" 5K2K monitor out there and the only OLED 5K2K monitor. There are a bunch of 40" 5K2K IPS LCD monitors from LG, Dell, HP, etc.

I bought it "almost" with the partner discount but then decided to pay the regular customer sale price of $1499 after I got a targeted 30% CB for the non-partner store offer from a well-known site. Just had to place it in my cart, then close the browser tab, and then the offer was in my email within an hour. It lowered the CB to 6% if ordered from the partner store. Combined this with a 4% cash-back offer on my Amex card for purchases at LG.

Have two of these one for flight simulator and one for racing simulator. Absolutely amazing for those use cases. Purchased them back in April for a higher price. To fully benefit from the 165 hertz refresh rate at 5k and ultra settings I run rtx5090 in both setups. I find both gpus pushing 100 percent. Something to be aware of if buying this a powerful video card is required.

Would highly recommend.

For daily work non gaming I personally don't like any curved monitors

Anyone know how to get through to LG Partner Site people? The main LG site has lowered the price to $1399 so the partner site should be 10% off that, about $1249 but they have not changed their price.

Amazing monitor. Playing battlefield 6 on it in HDR and native resolution with a 5090 is like a fever dream I never want to wake up from. The ABSOLUTE BEST. Btw don't let the curve scare you. It is a delight and very apt design for immersive gaming.I bought at release for 1700 or so and was totally worth it even at that premium price.
I have an Rtx 5080, will this work?

Yes it should. With a 5090 I can hit 100fps at native resolution with no ai assists, in bf6. With a 5080 I imagine u ould need the ai assists. But it should totally work.
