It would be better for AI stuff. The Intel arc drivers let you assign a greater amount of the shared RAM to the GPU so with 32gb you could assign 24 to the GPU and run models typically targeted for an RTX 4090. It's slower than the RTX, but definitely usable. I was getting around 20 tokens/second without trying any optimizations.

This is a smoking deal for the specs, but I'm not spec chasing anymore as I always regret the cheaper build and quality of life. I bought a Vivobook 14s similarly speced to this one (258v, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD) but with the following key advantages:

100% sRGB and DCI-P3 display with double peak brightness (600 vs 300)
Thinner, lighter weight and 15% bigger battery.
Wifi 7 & Bluetooth 5.4 vs Wifi 6E & Bluetooth 5.3
Supports 90W charging (compared to 65W)
All aluminum chassis
(personal opinion) I trust ASUS more with drivers

Not to mention it screams on benchmarks, Userbenchmarks puts it in the top 10% of tests with the 258v, meaning ASUS really knows how to make a well-tuned build.

Again, amazing deal for the Acer, and a lot of people don't value the above as much as I do, but just wanted to make people aware of some lesser talked about details that you are compromising on for the incredible press.

I paid $850 new at Microcenter, but you can get it $700 refurb on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/167797816741

I bought the ASUS Vivobook 14 Flip OLED, Intel Core Ultra 7 256v, 16GB DDRTX, 1TB for $700 before tax. (It was the costco deal recently)
I am a Mechanical Engineering student, do you think that this laptop would do better because it has 32GB? Also I heard Acer is not really good and reliable, so would this laptop be better than the laptop I have?
I also purchased the same ASUS Vivobook 14 Flip at Costco recently. The OLED screen on the Asus is almost certainly superior to this Acer's IPS screen (you could possibly try a side by side compare in warehouse?). The Acer may have moderately better internals, but the Vivobook OLED screen at 500 nits peak brightness is the real MVP.

I have the same ASUS laptop, and I think I'll be keeping it. ACER with 32GB RAM is tempting, but for my needs, the ASUS Vivobook is probably better because I need it for teleconferencing a lot. The screen quality matters because that's where I see the face of the person that I'm speaking to; and because I prefer not to use headphones, the speaker quality and fan noise level also matter.
Vivobook has nice speakers (I do need to use FxSound to lower bass and make it better for teleconferencing) and a nice screen that makes it pleasant for teleconferencing. I like ASUS also because it's "Whisper Mode" was quieter than HP Omnibook X Flip's quiet mode. As for the ACER Aspire, a Costco reviewer specifically complained about the speakers of ACER Aspire for teleconferencing, so that is discouraging, and it's screen does not seem as good as the Vivobook. And I don't like the ACER's design.
So, I think it depends on your needs and usage. Extra RAM vs. better screen and speaker quality. You can probably go to Costco and take a look at them for comparison.

The display of this laptop is rather bad, however the price is way too good to complain about any other issue than that. If you're serious about getting a 32gb productivity laptop then the display should not bother you that much.

Just checked out your link but I don't see any mentions of any dedicated GPU. Very disappointed I was ready to jump all over it if it had a 4070. I just bought an Asus vivo book with the ultra 9 and the OLED. But has 3050 which is my main issue with it. However I did upgrade my ram to 56gb so idk why I'm even looking to buy another laptop haha. But the high resolution OLED and the 4070 had me ready to buy it as long as ram was upgradable.
Inside the "About this Item" field, it states the GPU is a RTX 4070. I do find it strange that it doesn't mention it elsewhere.

RAM is not upgradeable in this - it already has 32GB. Most of these type 14" thin models are soldered into the MB. Here is a screenshot of the page

Anyone got this? How is the battery life in these? Am looking for a comparable macbook air quality battery life in a windows 11 pc for some light work purpose mostly. Battery life is a huge factor for me with basic functionality

Yes, almost a bit too much but having 32GB of RAM surely doesn't hurt in the next years.
