100% sRGB and DCI-P3 display with double peak brightness (600 vs 300)
Thinner, lighter weight and 15% bigger battery.
Wifi 7 & Bluetooth 5.4 vs Wifi 6E & Bluetooth 5.3
Supports 90W charging (compared to 65W)
All aluminum chassis
(personal opinion) I trust ASUS more with drivers
Not to mention it screams on benchmarks, Userbenchmarks puts it in the top 10% of tests with the 258v, meaning ASUS really knows how to make a well-tuned build.
Again, amazing deal for the Acer, and a lot of people don't value the above as much as I do, but just wanted to make people aware of some lesser talked about details that you are compromising on for the incredible press.
I paid $850 new at Microcenter, but you can get it $700 refurb on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/167797816741

I am a Mechanical Engineering student, do you think that this laptop would do better because it has 32GB? Also I heard Acer is not really good and reliable, so would this laptop be better than the laptop I have?

Vivobook has nice speakers (I do need to use FxSound to lower bass and make it better for teleconferencing) and a nice screen that makes it pleasant for teleconferencing. I like ASUS also because it's "Whisper Mode" was quieter than HP Omnibook X Flip's quiet mode. As for the ACER Aspire, a Costco reviewer specifically complained about the speakers of ACER Aspire for teleconferencing, so that is discouraging, and it's screen does not seem as good as the Vivobook. And I don't like the ACER's design.
So, I think it depends on your needs and usage. Extra RAM vs. better screen and speaker quality. You can probably go to Costco and take a look at them for comparison.
