Good timing on your post. I literally just returned from Costco, and while I was there, I saw the TV marked down another $200 from when I purchased it on October 29th. It look 5 different Costco staff member to finally process the refund. The first guy processed a return for $100 so I told him it should be a refund of $216. Three different staff at the returns counter told me they don't process a return of the sales tax (8% in California). I politely told them they were misinformed as I have processed several price adjustments in the past and they always process the sales tax that applies to the amount of the adjustment. Finally the store manager was called and he and another gal double teamed the price adjustment while we were chatting and having a good time. He hands me the refund receipt for $210 so I told him he was $6 short but I had wasted enough time so I told him I was good and left. The price adjustment receipt reflects a return of the TV at $1999 then a purchase of the new TV at $1799 but then charged $6 for the good ol' California e-waste fee that you pay up front when you purchase TV, computer displays, etc. I had already paid that $6 fee when I purchased a $1999 so they should have returned the TV and the e-waste fee, then process the purchase at the lower price plus the e-waste fee. Just a heads up for you folks in California!

Haha sounds like a circus. Sales tax isn't Costco's revenue to take, it's the state's money based on the actual sale amount. Glad you got them sorted out on it. I'm not even going to ask what an E-waste fee is haha

Partner store is $1800 but you get a 10% off coupon so more like $1619... Bundle with S40T LG Soundbar ($229 msrp) and LG xboom Grab Core speaker ($139).. I would say if you sell them they are maybe worth $150.. So 1800-1619+150=$331 cheaper to do partner store.. Is the extended warranty of 4 additional years worth $331? (LG gives you one year by default)
