We used a ton of these for a move about 2 years ago. For clothing, linens, etc., they were perfect. They hold a ton and are pretty sturdy. Zippers are of good enough quality and handles are just long enough that you can slide them up to your shoulders for carrying.
The only negative is that if you pull outwards on a single handle, they will tear off and damage the bag. As for firewood, they may work decently for a while... eventually, I think you'll tear a seam or a handle, or the zipper will fail. To me, these are perfect to use a few times for a move and then for longer term storage. They're not something that you'd use everyday.
If anyone is in the southern Vermont area, I still have a ton of them that I'd be willing to share... just PM.
