FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.

Can you register these cards with your name and address + zip code?
Some places online won't accept them without that.

I had one of these that wouldn't activate. The company stopped responding after a couple emails. I don't know if this is the same company, but whatever you're using this for probably isn't worth the risk of losing $200.

Sounds more like AMEX gift cards. Terribly hard to use and the one I bought three days ago is "On Hold." They'll send me a check for the balance once my pending transaction clears is what the rep on the phone told me.

Not sure what you need to activate? Once paid you can use them.

They mean that the store they bought it at didn't activate it properly, which unfortunately happens sometimes.

Our experience with new staples system is that it will blocks the sale/transaction when scanning the same card twice or wrong bar code.
Now, if one of them didn't get activated this means the card wasn't paid for unless something new happened this week with staples system. Which is not a surprise.

The OP didn't say where they bought the gift card...they just said they bought a gift card somewhere once and it wasn't activated. I know for a fact I once had this a number of years ago at BB&B where they sold me a gift card and I had to go back becuase it didn't properly activate...even though the system charged me.

Recently I have an issue that one of my visa gift card information was stolen after its 1st swipe at a grocery store. Called the gift card customer service and opened a case, which is still under investigation. Please note that the cards might be not linked to Google Pay or Samsung Pay for better security.

Hi, does it mean I can still use them without registering with name and address if I'm not going to check balance of them?

yes but some online merchants (very few) may not let the transaction go through without the cards having that info
