I cancelled mine to see (was on the $49 offer from last year, which ends in Jan). It didn't offer the same rate. oh well.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Check Amex Offers: Go to your Amex app, Offers, search "Walmart" and then add the "Spend $98, Get $49 offer to your card.
2. Verify Payment Method: Ensure the exact card you added the offer to is set as your default payment method in Walmart. (Note: Authorized User cards will not trigger the credit if the offer was added to the Primary card).
3. Use the Website (Critical): The fine print states the membership must be purchased via walmart.com/plus, not the mobile app. Do this on a desktop or mobile browser to be safe.
4. Trigger the Retention Offer: Go to "Manage Membership" and select "Cancel Membership." Continue through the warnings until you (hopefully) see a retention offer: "Stay and get $50 Walmart Cash."
5. Accept & Renew: Accept the offer. You will be charged the full $98, which is exactly what you want to trigger the Amex credit.
NOTE: If you simply renew at the current $49 holiday promo price, the Amex credit will NOT trigger because you won't meet the $98 spend requirement.
