I think the deal at NAPA of $12.99 for a 32oz bottle is a slightly better one.

Totally false. Premium gas refers to octane level not cleaning agent. And using it every once in a while will accomplish very little given the lack of concentration.

Napa has it for $5.50 each or $11 if you buy two

Yes, I've used this with success for vehicles with a rough idle and minor stalling problems. Also newer direct injection engines can be more prone to fouling and this works well in clearing that up- I had a 3.0 ecoboost stalling at idle- which was a surprise given its age and milage, after doing some research I tried this and it worked great.
How do you add it? When tank is 1/5th? or last 40 miles? How many tanks to past to see the improvement?

I always fill my tank with Chevron or Texaco gas. Do I need the OP?

Night and day. The seafoam really adds no value. Techron is objectively validated as the superior fuel additive. I don't know what the point in seafoam is.
Seafoam removes water, or at least makes it pass better. It also does a decent job cleaning. LOTS of local mechanics swear by it.

No. You are already using Top Tier branded gas. You won't see any improvement. Keep doing what you are doing.

When your tank is low on fuel, add this to your fuel tank. Then fill your vehicle up. Best to always use Top Tier Branded fuels. This includes fuel brands such as Shell, Marathon, Exxon, Chevron, Citgo, Costco, etc. You can see the full list of brands at Top Tier website.

Avoid purchasing fuel at Speedway, Sheetz, Walmart, Sam's Club, BJs, Getgo among other as none of these are certified as Top Tier branded fuels. Many studies ( Consumer Reports, AAA, & others) all verify that Top Tier fuels do make a difference to your vehicles engine.

**Add Techron when your fuel tank is nearly empty, then fill up immediately. You'll typically see improvement after 1–2 full tanks.**

Here's how to use Techron Fuel System Cleaner effectively:

### 🛠️ How to Add Techron
- **Add Techron directly into your gas tank** when it's *almost empty*—ideally around **1/5th full or less**.
- Then **fill the tank completely** with gasoline. This ensures the cleaner mixes thoroughly and circulates through the fuel system.
- It's best to do this **before a long drive**, so the cleaner has time to work through the injectors, intake valves, and combustion chambers.

### ⏱️ When to Use It
- Use Techron **every 3,000 miles** or **every oil change**, especially if you've been using non-top-tier gasoline.
- If your engine shows signs of hesitation, rough idling, or reduced fuel economy, Techron can help clean out carbon deposits.

### ⛽ How Many Tanks Until You See Results
- **Most users report noticeable improvements after 1–2 tanks** of gas following the initial treatment.
- For heavily carboned systems, **a second treatment** may be needed after the next fill-up.

### ✅ Benefits You Might Notice
- Smoother idling
- Improved throttle response
- Better fuel economy
- Reduced emissions

Do these expire? Is it wise to stock these up?
**An unopened bottle of Techron can typically be stored for up to 5 years if kept in a cool, dry place.**

Here's what you need to know about Techron's shelf life:

### 🧴 Shelf Life of Unopened Techron
- **Unopened Techron bottles remain effective for 2 to 5 years** when stored properly.
- The key factors affecting shelf life are **temperature**, **light exposure**, and **container integrity**.
- **Cool, dark environments** (below 85°F / 29°C) are ideal to prevent chemical breakdown.

### ⚠️ What Happens After Expiration
- Techron doesn't become harmful after expiration, but **its cleaning performance may degrade** due to:
- **Solvent evaporation**
- **Detergent precipitation**
- Using an old bottle may still help, but **results could be less noticeable**.

### 🧪 Opened Bottles
- Once opened, Techron should be used within **12–18 months** due to oxygen exposure and potential oxidation.

### 🗓️ How to Check Dates
- Bottles often have a **manufacturing date** printed on the label or box. If you're unsure, assume a **5-year window** from that date.

It is cheaper to buy the cheapest gas and then use Techron each oil change and be $ ahead.

Techron has been my go to fuel system cleaner for decades on all of my cars. As soon as I detect a rough idle I'll use a bottle in a half tank or so and it smooth out before I need a refill.

Maybe, unless you're a Costco member. Their fuel is generally the cheapest AND it's Top Tier.
