As a long time Wyze user I really wanted to like these. The camera themselves are fine, but the software is horrendous. I like having a timeline I like to be able to do quick searches it's very clunky. I use eufy now with a pretty similar experience without the yearly subscription

I've seen several cheap security cameras like this with pan/tilt but they work with a phone app or cloud service. Since the hardware should be pretty cheap to produce are there any USB webcams that have pan/tilt under $40 that I can just connect to a PC? Even a Wifi camera that uses a standard protocol and not proprietary app/cloud would work for me.

3$ off coupon on the white version makes it almost the same price.

interesting. I have both Eufy and Tapo cameras and actually prefer the Tapo interface. It just seems a lot quicker to load and swipe through multiple cameras. Admittedly, I do more live viewing than looking back at camera events. Another big plus with Tapo is that they allow live viewing without timeout. I can plug in a phone and leave it on live view for hours (as long as you're on the same Wi-Fi network as the camera). Eufy times out after a few minutes.

I no longer recommend Tapo brand. I enjoyed two Tapo cameras from May to Sep. One of them had charging issue. I am stupid enough to start a warranty with the company. It's a nightmare. They charged me for shipping and sent me a replacement that is broken. I am still in struggle with the support right now after a month and they refused to do anything. Check Reddit. Found I am not along.

I have several Tapo cameras at my house. They're all indoor cameras but I have a couple outdoors and they do fine if kept out of the rain. I've never used Wyze but don't have any problem with the Tapo software. Works fine whether on the same network or not.

I also have an Ezviz and at one point I had them side by side on my deck as a test. The Ezviz seemed to be better at picking up smaller movements (like birds coming to the birdbaths) but otherwise they performed similarly and I slightly prefer the Tapo software.

With Bluestacks I am able to view and control the cameras from my laptop.

Got this to spy on rats getting into my crawl space. Works great, no complaints. Super easy to set up.

Funny, I had the exact same issue when I moved into my house some years ago. I sealed off all of the crawlspace vents with hardware cloth and then cut a hole in the ill-fitting crawlspace door and pushed a Havahart trap up to the hole so that the rats would have to go through the trap to get out. (I didn't want to trap them IN the crawlspace)

I had an Ezviz camera at the time and set it up to see how the system worked. This is one of the first vids I got from that setup:

King Snake looking for a way into the crawlspace. I'm guessing he was used to feeding on the rats under there.
