I hope they update the frame one day. Seems like same design as GTX1650 model years ago.

Bought it last year. Not bad running machine and handles basic games well. But it's a flimsy frame. If using it as an actual laptop in your lap it flexes and the touch pad will stop clicking.

Strangely enough, the 2024 model year Victus (15-fb3093dx) has only 1 ssd slot. The current model year have 2 ssd slots.

Brand new on BB site is currently listed for $550 Vs open box only slightly being lower.
Reading the reviews, some users complaining about the wifi connectivity issues and dedicated GPU not able to handle games at high frame rate.

It's an RTX 4050 mobile, so it's basically as low-end as a current dedicated GPUs gets. Usually low wattage, (75w in this model) always 6GB VRAM. Anyone expecting this to be more than a 1080p, low-medium settings PC will be sorely dissapointed. It's a ~$500 gaming laptop, and it'll perform as such.

Your next tier up is the RTX 4060 or RTX 5050, both with similar performance and 8GB VRAM. That level really starts around $650, with a few rare exceptions, and the next tier after that are the RTX 4070 / 5060 laptops in the $850 - $1100 range. I haven't seen a RTX 5070 laptop for less than $1100 on slickdeals. From a price / performance standpoint, there are diminishing returns after the RTX 4060 equipped laptops, with the real reason to pay a premium being VRAM in something like the 5070 TI or RTX 4080, both with 12GB VRAM. The newer the generation, the better the power efficiency, typically, which can result in better thermals.

Nvidia has been dragging their feet with VRAM for mobile GPUs, barely increasing it over the past 5 years, lagging even their increasingly disappointing desktop GPUs.
