The rtings score you are referring to is for TCL QM6K. This from Costco is TCL QM6K Pro, which has upgraded "CrystGlow" HVA panel with an anti-reflective matte coating. Best for bright, sunlit rooms.

Suboptimal scores even for this price point

Thats what I'm hoping for, too. It was $900 in September, but it went out of stock before I could pull the trigger. I'm not so sure it'll drop to that point again for BF.

Honestly everyone should probably be buying external speakers or a sound bar for modern TV's, even the high end ones. With the continued push for thinner TV's with thinner bezels, there's no room on modern TV's for decent speakers.
I do believe the QM6 or QM7 series have a built in subwoofer but still not sure it would even compare to an actual cheap Vizio 5.1 setup

Stop living for these scores. Mini LED and 75" for under 750 is not terrible at all. You cannot compare it to something $1,500+

The HVA panel also reduces the overall brightness on an already dim TV, so it's more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. Slightly better for a room with more direct sunlight, while worse for rooms without. With a room with a lot of direct sunlight, you really want a brighter TV than either of these anyways.

If you're in an ultra bright room, blackout blinds are a must

I have a pending charge of $69.70 from Costco on top of a $750.72 charge. I thought the Allstate warranty was included. Is that normal?

I haven't seen any reputable source say the Qm6k is brighter than the Qm6k pro. They are literally the same TV but with the pro having the upgraded anti-reflective coating as the qm7. That is the only difference, they both use the same exact mini-led back light with same amount of zones and everything else. Unless you are particular and prefer a glossy screen, the Qm6k pro is better just due to that.
