For precision's sake, there is the M4 Pro, which, while I believe it's the same cpu clock speed, does have more total cores, more performance cores, more GPU cores, and higher memory bandwidth, so I would generally consider the M4 Pro to be "faster" than the M4.

Best Buy would not price match. Their price match policy covered this as micro center is a qualified competitor. The manager was probably the dumbest human I've ever met

How did you do it? I did a price match on Monday through the chat. The rep said they would match and then proceeded to create a custom order for with the Best Buy price of $479. He said he wasn't able to override, but that we should proceed with custom order so it connects to the case notes and then I could call Best Buy the next day and they would honor. The next day I called and they also acknowledged eligibility, but were unable to change. Today I called again and the guy said the price match is not honored for competitor websites during the Christmas season. The price is not a SD. On sale base model regularly is on sale for $450. Would recommend that you go to the edu store and get the one with 10G ethernet, since stand alone 10G runs $100 and stand alones run very hot. Finally, you can get a 2TB internal SSD for around $250 if you dont pay apple prices. If you get the pro version, that has TB5 so its easier just to get an external TB5 drive and it runs about as fast as the internal SSD.

Good deal. I bought one from MC a couple months ago, and easily upgraded the ssd from 256 to 1tb from an AliExpress kit I got on sale for about $145.

I understand many are most comfortable with the Mac environment but dang it comes at a premium. Prefer to save a ton of money by staying with cheaper Windows/PC offerings.
