Can someone explain the purpose of the pointy ends on the handles ? My channel lock pliers don't have these and I'm wondering what I'm missing

Best use I've found is electrical box knock outs

When running electrical conduit you can use the jaws to tighten connectors and also open the knockouts on panels or boxes with the handles

Is there a better set than these two at this price point? I'm in the market for a decent set of these.

This is really cheap. Likely will nto find better for $20. If you don't mind spending extra, you cannot go wrong with Knipex. I bought a 4-pc set (pliers/cutters) last year that I enjoy tremendously. Hardly ever use my old Channel Locks now.

At Home Depot, save an extra $10 when buying 3 sets or an extra $30 when buying 5 sets.
