Interesting. I thought it was similar to Gas-X and Mylicon, but it's not.
The active ingredient is alpha-galactosidase, helps digest beans, but also broccoli, according to Wiki.

Beano is honestly a terrible name for the product.
It's an enzyme that breaks down a sugar that many cannot digest, but bacteria in your colon can. Coincidentally, it's healthier diets that suffer the most from it. The sugar is heavily present in basically all greens, whole grains, nuts, etc.

Why did the man take Beano before eating his musical fruit salad?
Because he wanted to enjoy the melody, not the bass!

FYI, Target do their own brand of those which are only slightly more expensive than the sale price here (for when it's not on sale).

Honest question... Will this keep me from burping after drinking alot of beer? Girlfriend hates it and I don't like to burp slowly out my nose.

Why is it a terrible name? Do you not remember the slogan "Take Beano before and there'll be no gas?"

Unlikely. The natural carbonation in beer is likely what is causing burps. If you also get burps from other carbonated drinks like soda, you'll know for sure alpha galactosidase won't help.
