I wish I could help, but I purchased 2 for Christmas gifts (have not opened) from Costco new for 219 a piece. May be worth it for the ability to return. Also the specs may be a little different. The Costco one says 120Hz...
3440 x 1440 Resolution
120Hz Refresh Rate,
1ms Response Time
ZeroFrame Design,
HDR10
Adaptive-Sync Support
Display Port Cable Included

Model # is UM.CE0AA.002

They look to be the same model number...

I got a similar refurbished monitor from Target, the Nitro EDA343CUR H, for $170 but I just returned it because the VA panel meant there was too much ghosting and black smearing, especially when moving an in-game camera. And the "HDR" barely qualifies, I had to turn it off. I ended up getting an IPS monitor for twice the cost off Marketplace and I couldn't be happier with it. So I'd say for me, it was worth paying more for a better experience when gaming

I have a 340CUR atm which appears to be older than this one and noticing zero ghosting and smearing. Makes me wonder if you turned on the right settings in the monitor settings itself. They also need HDR to be turned on on the monitor. Not windows settings bc that looks like crap. Also should turn off sharpening in the monitor settings. Text looks way better without it.

On another note, I'm just wondering whether I should return my new 340 for 60 or so more I got for this 343 refurbed one.

That seems unlikely that it would have "zero" ghosting and smearing, unless it uses the same panel as one of the Samsung Odysseys. I have an LG 32 inch VA monitor and even that has smearing at its default 180hz. I have to turn it down to 120hz and reduce the response time to mostly eliminate it. If you don't use dark mode the smearing is harder to spot, but it looks like the image stays in place with a black image on a white website.

Something like Reddit is a very easy place to spot the smearing, which for me gives the white text a yellow color in motion and is very distracting.
