There are multiple catches. First, they're not rated 2500mAh, they're rated 2500mWh. 2500mWh works out to ~1667mAh at 1.5V. Going in the other direction, the Eneloops are 2520mWh. Also, many of the Lithium-ion AAs have outright fraudulent ratings. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they were nowhere near the 2500mWh rating. Meanwhile, Eneloops tend to hit their (typical) rating almost exactly.

Lithium-ion AAs also have a much higher self-discharge rate, (most) won't give a low-battery warning before dying, can interfere with some wireless devices, and have a max discharge rate (which can be problematic in very high drain devices). They're also not as safe as NiMH. I only recommend using them for devices that won't tolerate NiMH.

Lithium-ion is probably the logical choice, however (1.6V) Nickel-Zinc exist (though they're not particularly common).

They have date codes stamped on them.

Sir, this is an 8 pack for $16. LADDA 2450 mAh are $11.99 for a 4 pack, and 1900 mAh 4 packs are $9.99............

Yes I do. The cameras and doorbell will work but will always think the battery is low. Only way to know that it has run out is to wait for a disconnected alert.

May be a silly question - is there a 1.5V equivalent to enelooops? thought I'd be set with 1.2v but certain things demand 1.5v
Yes. Look for rechargeable lithium batteries in this form factor. I've personally used Tenavolts for years, but there are some cheaper options now on Amazon and Temu that seem to also be working well. Pujimax I believe is the Temu brand I used

Use rechargeable lithiums. I got them initially just for my blink cameras but now use them everywhere

Do these work on Schlage smart dead bolt (older model Connect BE469ZP) and Moen Cadia Touchless 87869EWSRS faucet?

These are among the best. Very few problem cells.
Only brands I've found to be as good or better are Fujitsu and Ikea.

Not optimal, but cheaper. The "required" batteries are around 1.9v when new, and these only charge up to around 1.4v.

That's a good idea. Have you considered buying some sharpies to label your sharpies that you use to label your sharpies? It's sharpies all the way down.

Wow! 19% more capacity than the Eneloop (2500mah vs 2100mah), significantly cheaper, and include a charger.
What's the catch?

The lithium batteries are to prone to a "thermal event" aka FIRE and also they do not have a gradual voltage lowering. So you don't get the hint that the batteries are about to die, they just cut off completely.

Yes I have these in my three Schlage smart locks, but I find the Eneloop Pro version last longer

Thumbs up for you just for this being for AA rather than AAA. I bought a set first and then came back to post, didn't want to miss them.
