I own this flashlight, and I like it. I believe I purchased mine directly from Sofirn.

My main critique is that while the **build quality is very good, it results in significant weight.** If I could change one thing, I would suggest using a lighter, more fragile material, as items strapped to a head typically do not require such extreme durability. This change would necessitate better heat dissipation, likely through additional cooling fins, a trade-off I would accept.

My first light was the HS41, which uses a larger battery and is heavier. Wearing it on my hard hat all night resulted in noticeable strain from the weight. This model mitigates that issue by utilizing a slightly smaller battery.

It would be an excellent enhancement if it featured separate **rotational knobs** for both brightness and light selection. Outside of that, I appreciate the design. Ideally, the existing switches would be dedicated solely to power and programmable presets.

Regarding thermals, I think there should be a small **air gap behind the LED** instead of using the entire flashlight body as the primary heat sink, but I understand these are all design trade-offs.

If I had to grab one light to go out, say, trick-or-treating, I'd put this in my pocket. It provided the necessary light whenever we needed to address the fact that the costume my three-year-old was wearing kept causing her to trip.

Lastly I should mention I've only used the hands-free sensor one time trying it out. I find the feature a waste of space, the rest of the light is fine.

I have one, it really is a nice headlamp. I have a few other sofirn headlamps, a smaller one, and a larger one that is asymetric. This one is nicer and more comfortable. Definitely recommend at this price.

Would you say it is too heavy for running?

I think it would be light enough for running given the three-way head strap if you get the fit right. I'm just one of those who wants it to be like min/max you know.
-
edit:
tried on the light to consider this comment further, and I have to say it might be a little bit heavy to run. it's a little heavier than I remember. it's still right there on the edge where if you used the head strap perfectly and you were willing to tighten it a bit, you can manage, but I think there should be a better one for running. it's just got enough aluminum that is kind of Hefty.

I have sofirn h25s and it's my favorite headlamp.

I love how it uses a standard 18650 which is very long battery life and can be replaced when battery dies.

In for another one, this one looks like is brighter

Those details are wrong. It's says 18650 battery and your details say 21700.

There are certainly lighter headlamp options for running. Take a look at the Sofirn H35R and H25L, or the Wurkkos HP300.

Up to 3 hours, depending on which mode you're in. Third-party testing runtime graphs can be found here: https://1lumen.com/review/sofirn-hs21/
