I own this flashlight, and I like it. I believe I purchased mine directly from Sofirn.

My main critique is that while the **build quality is very good, it results in significant weight.** If I could change one thing, I would suggest using a lighter, more fragile material, as items strapped to a head typically do not require such extreme durability. This change would necessitate better heat dissipation, likely through additional cooling fins, a trade-off I would accept.

My first light was the HS41, which uses a larger battery and is heavier. Wearing it on my hard hat all night resulted in noticeable strain from the weight. This model mitigates that issue by utilizing a slightly smaller battery.

It would be an excellent enhancement if it featured separate **rotational knobs** for both brightness and light selection. Outside of that, I appreciate the design. Ideally, the existing switches would be dedicated solely to power and programmable presets.

Regarding thermals, I think there should be a small **air gap behind the LED** instead of using the entire flashlight body as the primary heat sink, but I understand these are all design trade-offs.

If I had to grab one light to go out, say, trick-or-treating, I'd put this in my pocket. It provided the necessary light whenever we needed to address the fact that the costume my three-year-old was wearing kept causing her to trip.

Lastly I should mention I've only used the hands-free sensor one time trying it out. I find the feature a waste of space, the rest of the light is fine.

I have one, it really is a nice headlamp. I have a few other sofirn headlamps, a smaller one, and a larger one that is asymetric. This one is nicer and more comfortable. Definitely recommend at this price.

In my experience, a full 18650 headlamp with the battery in the front is probably going to be uncomfortably heavy and bouncy for running.

How long does the battery last? Is it good for long runs?
Exmoor makes a good point and this will be very person-dependent. But I run with two different 18650 headlamps upwards of 10-ish miles and find them to be great (because they're likely lighter than this deal's light):

Skilhunt H03 which I've had since 2017 and used a lot. I'm sure there's a newer version by now. Pretty great band that doesn't slip whether I wear it on just my head, with a hat, or with a beanie

Zebralight H600Fc Mk IV XHP50.2 Floody 4000k High CRI which I've had since 2023. Man, this thing is nice. Very lightweight. The band is a bit slicker though so I find I have to adjust it more when running with a beanie (though perhaps I need to work on the straps). No issues with a grippier hat or just my head. I have started just tucking this one into the front of my pants though. I put the clip backwards from where you normally would keep it so the light clip is on my shorts and the light is inside my shorts if that makes sense. This helps the light not bounce around quite as much. I kind of want to 3D print some "wings" that go on either side of the head so it stabilizes it even more when I run, but with how floody this beam is, I don't get a lot of that side to side bounce action with it. I have taken this on an 18 mile run tucked into the front of my shorts. Totally fine, except it did rub on my stomach some and make that spot sore for a couple of days. I'd add moleskin to it if I did that again to try to mitigate. This was a shirtless, sweaty run though in summer temps. If I wore a shirt and tucked it in behind the light, I'm sure it would've been fine.

I run about 30-50 miles per week and this time of the year it's mostly in the dark. I've also considered the UltrAspire Waist Lights but so far these two headlamps do enough for me.

I recently bought the Wurkkos HD03 clip light and it works very well clipped to the front of my shorts/tights. But run time would likely be an issue for longer runs if you want to crank the brightness.

With all of these lights, I try to shade them a bit if I'm running against traffic or other people since I'm sure they kind of blind you. In a perfect world, I'd have a hood for these lights just like bike lights have that shapes the beam a bit so it doesn't hit other people's eyes

This is a great deal, I just purchased this same one (same seller) Oct 21 for $31.16. That was the cheapest I could find it. I've had Sofirn lights for a few years now, they have great products.
Just ordered 1 for $23.77 using TAKEOFF4

Thanks for the link!Btw folks, ignore the fake $95 price listed above. Reading the review, I notice the actual retail pricing for this headlamp is normally around $40-45. Makes for a lot less FOMO.

I've yet to come across a listing that doesn't inflate the list price. (Car dealers do the same with MSRP.)

Best place to check is the manufacturer's website. Sofirn currently lists it as $57.48, on sale for $45.99.

Yeah Paypal works best with AliExpress.
Just be careful. I got hit with a $10 transaction fee by my bank as the transaction was coded as a cash advance. This was on a purchase that was less than $10. There are a lot of reddit threads about this particular issue.

The Paypal issue is specific to those with credit cards linked -- not debit cards, or Paypal funds.

So if we just use a credit card that isn't in our paypal account then it will go through without the cash advance fee? How do we know what credit cards will get this charge or not if we just enter the credit card number into the link? It looks like PayPal is the only option I see.

The issue is specific to Paypal. You don't have to use Paypal. You can add a card to your account -- they accept the major ones (Visa, Mastercard, Amexm Discover).

I added a Virtual account number with my credit card to my Ali Express account. This way should work good without the fee?
