When I walk by cheap TV deals everywhere I sometimes think about this kid in my town growing up who got hurt a bit in a car accident. He got a settlement and spent it all right away. Got big screen TVs right before HDTV became a thing. Then a couple years later he spent like $10,000 on an early plasma TV. And not long after he was out of money and living in some really cruddy apartment with his old car he paid cash for a few years earlier and a couple SDTV big screens. He had sold his plasma after a bit because he needed the money.

I was buying spices from him, flanked by 2 65 inch big screen SD TVs showing some reality show on MTV while he was telling me all the stuff that was now going wrong for him.

This TV costs about what I paid for that 1/4 oz of spices back then.

Just because we use a spice grinder for it, doesn't make it a spice.

I'd spend a little more for a QLED TV. BB had a QLED 40" TCL TV as a doorbuster a week ago for $99. I expect similar deals this month.

It's cute that you think people care about the ratings on a $60 TV. It's basically disposable at that point - no one is expecting 8K and 7.1 sound.
