I've heard nothing but good things about it even though I've never played it. They say it's a very in depth game kind of like Skyrim.

The game brings a considerable amount of depth with it. If you're looking to become completely engrossed in a game, to challenge yourself, and to abandon your preconceived expectations of what a game like this might be like, then you will be rewarded with a unique experience.Just be forewarned that it's not a casual game by any means. You need to be strategic with your finances as money does not come easy. You must learn alchemy to have a chance of outlasting enemies. You must pay attention to your companions and to dialogue. It's not a hack and slash mindless time, it requires careful thought. Also, you need to bathe, or else socially you will be at a disadvantage, and bathing is not free. The social interactions, choices and consequences, they're all top notch. Just read people's criticisms before buying. This isn't a game for everyone.

This is not a fantasy game. In the first game moreso, you are really just an average peasant that sucks at everything and will get killed if you try to jump into a fight with 2 bandits while you're unskilled. Some people joke it's a peasant simulator or a Henry (the MC) simulator in the way that you have to manage needs like eating and sleeping and are following the personal and realistic story of a made up person living within very real historical nonfiction. Just about every important character you meet is based on real historical figures and the events around you are real historical events. The only implausible thing really is that your character would be a legend for the hundreds of people you end up killing by the end of the game.

The game is not for everyone, the combat and lock picking is a little too complicated and/or clunky for a lot of people until you Stockholm syndrome yourself into getting really good at it, but I find them deeply interesting mechanics that set this game far above your average sword hero button masher. (Tip, if you're struggling, just Google where to learn the master strike. It's legitimately an "I win" button)

These are both some of my favorite games of all time, with hundreds of hours in each, and a newfound interest and respect for the real history and culture of the Czech people

It's amazing, buy it. Most immersive experience I've had in a long time.

Both are absolutely the best "realistic" RPGs you'll ever play. Action, humor, intrigue. Very very fun. Great acting and story. I wish I could go back and play them again for the first time. I played them back to back for about 200 hours of perfection.

I didn't complete Witcher 3, but I did play it. The social elements are just as rich if not richer, but I don't think the Witcher 3 is as difficult as this, or simulation-based.

Yes, in quality. But a very different experience. It's first person. Not as much action. No magic really to speak of, though there is alchemy. This is a game that quasi-simulates life during the time period. It isn't a fantasy realm. They are places and people based on real life.

This game comes as close as possible to being a real life simulator in the 15th century. It's challenging. You're not a super hero with any powers, you're just a dude trying to navigate the world. Even a fist fight is realistic and you might barely make it out or die. The world is incredibly deep and well-crafted, it's just a very different type of gaming experience.
